BATALA MUNICIPAL VISION
• Improvement of physical and social infrastructure with due consideration
for pro-poor, participatory and inclusive development based with equity
and equality
• Pollution-free environment, development of greenery and enhancement of
overall beautification of the city etc.
• Providing waste water management, collection of garbage on a regular
basis from all over the city which helps in making clean and beautiful city.
• To carry out maintenance and development work of parks, roads, drains,
street lights etc. in the city

EFFORTS FOR MAKING CITY CLEAN
The city has done many effort to make the
city clean by the way of proper and efficient
solid waste management.
The new inventory and effort done by Municipality
• The total number of 4 tractors, 6 trolley and one JCB machine has
been bought by the Municipality
• The council also added up 35 container, 350 dustbin in the present
inventory within the city so that solid waste did not spill over on
the road.
• The land of 2 acre is also taken up on lease to solve the dumping
issue which is faced by the resident of the city
• 40 iron drums are also placed in the narrow streets so that waste
can be collected and disposed of properly.
• 5 old fogging machines are also repaired to get rid of the
mosquitoes so that residents remain healthy.
• Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, amount of Rs. 6.24 lakh has
been given to beneficiaries for making the individual household
toilet.

DEVELOPMENT WORKS
IN THE REGIME OF PRESIDENT MR. NARESH MAHAJAN,
THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL BATALA HAS SPENT Rs. 10.95
CRORE FOR AROUND 170 DEVELOPMENT WORKS FOR
THE WELFARE OF CITIZENS IN THE CITY.
ROAD AND STREET WORKS
Road, streets and drains are
constructed in many areas of the
city. In the recent months
construction work is done in Ward
no. 11, 15, 16, 24, 30 to make the
smooth movement of the city’s
residents.
ENERGY EFFICIENT STREET LIGHTS
Municipal Council took an initiative to provide the energy
efficient light which helps saving the energy which results into
saving the electricity bill. The areas namely Murgi Mohalla,
Faizpura, Kacha kot, Guru Nanak nagar, Circular road and G.T.
road are installed with the energy efficient LED street lights.
Moreover, the villages which are come under the jurisdiction of
Municipal council limit also covered with the LED lights.

PRADHAN MANTRI AVAS YOJNA - HOUSING FOR ALL
Housing for all aims to provide
affordable housing to urban poor.
For that purpose the central
assistance for In-situ rehabilitation of
slums, credit link subsidy, Affordable
Housing in Partnership and Subsidy
for Beneficiary-led individual house
construction/ enhancement.Cheques are distributed to people under
PMAY-HFA scheme by President
Mission Achievements
The total number of 4170 applications are received under housing for all
scheme by the Municipal council which has been sent for approval to
PUDA, Chandigarh.
Moreover, 837 families has been granted an approval of fund for making
their pucca house under PMAY-HFA
AMRUT MISSION
The purpose of Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation
(AMRUT) is to (i) ensure that every household has access to a tap with
assured supply of water and a sewerage connection; (ii) increase the amenity
value of cities by developing greenery and well maintained open spaces (e.g.
parks); and (iii) reduce pollution by switching to public transport or
constructing facilities for non-motorized transport (e.g. walking and cycling).
Mission Progress
5 parks has been identified in different part of city i.e. Dharampura colony
place surrounding Water Tank, Pink city, Sant Rasila Colony, Khatib,
Sheetla Mandir which help in making more lung spaces for the citizen of
the city.
The various reforms like double accounting system, website and
publishing the information digitally so that we can connect and provide
information the people of Batala city.

NULM – NATIONAL URBAN LIVELIHOOD MISSION
NULM aims to reduce poverty and
vulnerability of the urban poor
households by enabling them to
access gainful self-employment and
skilled wage employment. In
addition, mission provide shelter
equipped with essential services to
the urban homeless. Fund given to SHG’s by President
Mission Achievements
38 self help groups are formed and along with that 8 group has been given
revolving fund of Rs. 10000.
Under Self Employment programme, loan for their gainful self
employment is being granted to 68 people.
One Skill center is established for providing skill training to the people
along with that job will also be provided to them after successful
completion of course. Presently, 448 student are getting training in the
centre.
The construction of Night shelter is started for the Urban homeless people
in the Batala.
