INTRODUCTION

The operating theatre is a sensitive environment that must be carefully managed –

patients are at their most vulnerable, and hospital staffs are directly exposed to potential

sources of infection. Gowns and drapes play a critical role as barriers to minimize the

spread of infective agents to and from patients’ operating wounds.

It has been documented for years that under surgical conditions, traditional linen is not a

barrier to the spread of micro-organisms, especially by liquids. Unlike modern fabrics

such as nonwovens, linen provides inadequate protection to patients and staff.

Nonwovens are unique engineered fabrics – strong, yet light and comfortable. Advanced

production methods are used to create a range of nonwovens whose qualities can be

specified to meet particular needs.

Medical nonwovens combine phenomenal barrier properties with other key qualities. A

high level of breathablity ensures comfort for wearers, self-adherent edges ensure

precision in isolating the wound, and aseptic folding and a low level of linting help protect

the sterile operating environment.

Manufacturing techniques are constantly evolving to make nonwovens even more

effective as barriers to the spread of infection.

The adaptability of single-use nonwovens ensures the most appropriate level of

the penetration of germs and prevent the transfer of pathogens from medical staff to

Our company involved in offering Spunlace gown & Drapes. Spunlace fabric is

made out of hydro-entanglement of loose fibers webs as a result fabric has its

specific properties like softness, drape, conformability, relatively higher strength,

conformability and closely approaching woven fabric.

SMS fabric structure is based on a three ply system consisting of Spunbond/Melt-

barrier to bacteria, Good breathablity, Good Strength, light weight, highly comfort, and

low linting properties.

Benefits of SMS Material

1. Made by three layers of spunbond/melt-blown/spunbond, which provides

higher fluid barrier than Spunlace material

2. Good comfort but lesser than Spunlace material

microbes. Microbial migration and contamination from nonsterile to sterile areas is

minimized by isolating the incision site and creating a sterile field with the use of sterile

drapes. So it is important to select a surgical drape that provides reliable performance.

To achieve the best surgical outcomes look for surgical drapes with qualities like

impervious to strike through, fluid control feature, reliable adhesion, superior strength

and comfort.

Surgeon ShieldTM Drapes

Surgeon shield Drapes made of Spunlace/ SMMS/ SMS Fabric based on the customer

requirements. It is available individually and in specialized packs to cover most surgical

procedures. We do make fully customized drapes as per the requirements of the

customer in order to save there time.

* Impervious to Strikethrough

Surgeon shieldTM Drapes are impervious to liquid strikethrough which can help to reduce

bacterial transfer and subsequent contamination of the surgical site.

* Absorbant

We provide Spunlace absorbent fabric around fenestration which absorb the fluids or

blood and keep hold in it which avoids the transfer of blood in the surgical area or avoids

fluids falling on the floor.

* Fluid control

Surgeon shieldTM drapes are effectively control and contain fluid. This is not only reduces

potential exposure to infectious body fluids, but keeps the patient day which can help

reduce turnaround time between procedures.

* Adhesive & Incise

We use premium quality, skin friendly adhesive tape which secures the drape in the place

without compromising barrier integrity. We use premium quality incise in most of the
