Back to School NewsThis school year will be very exciting with the construction project completion by end of September. The new

    additions to the school include:

New school office location to help monitor parents and visitors to our building New kindergarten classroom Parish/school elevator Small lunchroom kitchen in lunchroom area One central secure entrance door for parish and school New ceiling tiles Upgrade to school fire sprinkler system

We are praying that all the school related items are finished by the first day of school. It has been fun watching

the project all summer. After five years of planning, everything is coming together! Please watch emails

regarding moving and cleaning dates to get all classroom furniture, books, and supplies into the correct room

and clean. Everything is coated with a layer of dust. We have appreciated the great volunteers that have

    helped so far.

    School Theme for 2012

Our school theme this year is Jesus First. We will help students throughout each school day to keep Jesusfirst in all areas of our day. We gather each morning in prayer as a school to hear the daily gospel reading with

time for individual classrooms to say age appropriate prayers and intentions. Students celebrate mass each

Wednesday as a community to thank God for the many graces and favors given to us each week. At mass,

God is able to talk to us in a way that we will not find anywhere else. Through the scripture reading, God is

able to help, encourage and instruct us in a personal way. Some ways we will help students keep Jesus first

    throughout the year;

Be kind to each other at all times Sit with a new person at lunch or work with a new partner Help someone that is struggling Share school materials and toys Play fairly on the playground Pray for Jesus help in difficult times Work problems out peacefully Be honest Make Christian choices Respect differences. Realize that we make mistakes and accept consequences

Our Sacred Heart Catholic School Code of Conduct will help guide us throughout the year. Let us all be a role

model for our children. Students learn by watching and observing the important adults in their lives. When

Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in

the darkness, but will have the light of life. (John 8:12)

Do you want to volunteer at the school? All volunteers must complete a background check, sign our Code of

Conduct, and attend a Virtus session. Trainings here at Sacred Heart will be September 13 and October 11
