1. Critical Components Information.Components having special characteristics are marked and must be replaced with parts having specifications equalto those originally installed.

2. Leakage Current Measurement (For 120V Models Only).When service has been completed, it is imperative to verifythat all exposed conductive surfaces are properly insulatedfrom supply circuits.

Meter impedance should be equivalent to 1500 ohm shuntedby 0.15µF.

Leakage current must not exceed 0.5mA.

Be sure to test for leakage with the AC plug in bothpolarities.

SELF CHECK MODE

HOW TO START & CANCEL

Turn the POWER switch ON while pressing theDVD/LD and PRESET STATION No. 8 keys simul-taneously, and then the unit enters the SELFCHECK MODE (SELF). FL displays “SELF 1” first.(The INPUT is CD.)If the sound field program key of the main unit ispressed, the mode is set to the CHECK mode ofthat number. It is possible to select the INPUTeven during the self check (except for SELF 8).To cancel the SELF CHECK MODE, turn thePOWER switch OFF or press the PRESET STA-TION No. 8 key. (The unit enters the normalmode.)

This machine has a SELF CHECK MODE (SELF) for facilitating inspection and measurement.

SELF 7 MAKER PRESET

Every time the PRESET STATION No. 7 key ispressed, the mode changes between the KEEPDATA and PRESET modes. Turning OFF the powerin the “PRESET” mode will restore the FACTORYPRESET mode.

CAUTION : Before setting to the FACTORY PRESET,write down the existing preset memory con-tents of the Tuner in a table as shown be-low. (This is because setting to the FAC-TORY PRESET will cause the memory con-tents to be as factory set, i.e., all the presetmemory by the user will be erased.)

1. Turn the POWER switch ON while pressing the TUNER and PRESETSTATION No.8 keys simultaneously.The protection operation mode andmicroprocessor AD input value are displayed for 3 seconds.

Example : PRT-DC [AD value]PRT-I

[PRT-DC] indicates detection of an abnormal DC value from the amplifier.

[PRT-I] indicates detection of an abnormal overcurrent from the amplifier.

[PRT-NON] indicates no detection.
