Australian Popular Music Recordings 1955-1969 by Ross Laird

TRANSCRIPT

  • AUSTRALIAN POPULAR MUSIC RECORDINGS 1955-1969 Popular music recorded in Australia or by Australian artists recording overseas. Compiled by Ross Laird from original research. As original research it is the property of the compiler and may not be copied or distributed with permission. However, comments, corrections and additions are welcome. ***NOTE: This file is very much still under construction. Further information will be added periodically. Please feel to contact me if you have any questions, corrections or additions. My direct email address is: [email protected] INTRODUCTION There is no simple definition of popular music but this discography excludes most country music, folk, religious and various other types of recordings although some items listed contain elements of the above. Its impossible to draw a strict line dividing all these forms of music (for example, some artists have recorded in different styles at various stages of their career which may include pop, rock or jazz as well as any or all of the forms that are otherwise not within the scope of this discography as mentioned above). In some cases selected recordings by an artist may be included and others may not. So listings here are at the discretion of the compiler and maybe subject to revision at some later stage. This is very much a work in progress and no claim is made for completeness. ============================================================================ THE A SOUND Sydney, 1966 Talk about that Fest FK1340 Tomorrow I meet you Fest FK1340, L45587/8 Note: Festival LP L45587/8 is titled So You Want To Be A Rock Star Volume 1. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE A.B.C.
