We have received the new generation Printed Circuit Board (PCB) that will reduce the size and weight by approximately 30% from those that are currently shown on the video on our website www.cerestag.com. Testing on the PCB’s has begun. This is to assess the communications ability and accuracy in controlled environments. Gradually the tests will be making those environments less predictable and more challenging. This is to ensure we have a robust system able to deliver monitoring in varied conditions. These PCB’s are very close to the final size that will be used in the commercial release of Ceres Tag in 2020. Once the PCB’s have completed testing, we will encase them for on animal testing. August 2019 Newsletter Welcome to our fifth newsletter, previous newsletters are archived at www.cerestag.com/news/ also join and like our social media pages to stay informed and share with your networks.

Ceres Tag has moved through another milestone with Meat & Livestock Australia Donor Company. This is another major achievement on our journey to developing a scalable, low cost, animal welfare monitoring and traceability solution.

We have received the new generation Printed Circuit Board (PCB) that will reduce the size and weight by approximately 30% from those that are currently shown on the video on our website www.cerestag.com. Testing on the

PCB’s has begun. This is to assess the communications ability and accuracy in controlled environments. Gradually the tests will be making those environments less predictable and more challenging. This is to ensure we have a robust system able to deliver monitoring in varied conditions. These PCB’s are very

close to the final size that will be used in the commercial release of Ceres Tag in 2020. Once the PCB’s have completed testing, we will encase them for on animal testing. There will be iterative tests later this year on 20-50 animals before the large scale 500 animal trial at the end of the year.

Ceres Tag has recently signed an agreement with middleware provider Senaps, a company of Data61 and CSIRO. Senaps will provide data management services and sovereign level data security. Livestock producers can feel confident that the data has the highest level of security. This middleware platform will provide the open API for the software management platform to access the data on behalf of the livestock

producer. This will provide producers with the flexibility to consolidate their information into a single platform to view. Ceres Tag does not have its own user interface (software) and instead collaborates with user interface systems to supply the specific animal data.

New to Ceres Tag

Ceres Tag is pleased to welcome our newest senior member of the team, Lewis Frost. Prior to coming to Ceres Tag, Lewis was the Director of Livestock Monitoring – APAC for Allflex (Merck).

More about Lewis can be read here https://www.beefcentral.com/news/people-on-the-move-appointments-retirements-achievements-36/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Beef%20Central%20News%20Headlines%2010%20July%202019&utm_content=Beef%20Central%20News%20Headlines%2010%20July%202019+CID_8f12ad77134d0896d1e20f3e0ccfc759&utm_source=eGenerator&utm_term=People%20on%20the%20Move

Ceres Tag has listened to producers and the frustration felt by the inability to consolidate data due closed systems. Ceres Tag seeks to disrupt this model and provide freedom of choice for the producer by providing automated animal data entry into the existing farm management software to help to facilitate the desire to achieve a single dashboard to assist the data driven and timely decision making required for the future.

Ceres Tag has also selected a manufacturing partner for the next stage prototypes. The chosen manufacturer is able to deliver a quality product at volume, in a timely manner anywhere in the world. They have also invested and are excited to be on the journey with a product that has clear economic, environmental and social benefits for the red meat supply network. This certainty to be able to manufacturer to a very high quality provides Ceres Tag with the confidence to produce our smart ear tags into the future.

Ceres Tag has welcomed four (4) new shareholders recently. Ceres Tag is grateful to all our shareholders for their investment, encouragement and their passion to be involved to improve the industry with new scalable and update-able technology for the traceability provenance and welfare monitoring of animals to ensure the integrity of food security and food safety.

To all those hundreds of producers who kindly offer their properties for trials, we are truly grateful however we can not afford to trial on everyone’s property and therefore will be following a strict development program so we can get the product to market as quickly as possible and available for you.

Ceres Tag would like to thank our partners Meat & Livestock Australia Donor Company, Queensland Government, CSIRO and James Cook University, we are grateful for your contribution and commitment to improving the livestock industry with Ceres Tag. We would also like to acknowledge our advisory panel of producers for their patience and guidance. We also pass on our thoughts to those who may be experiencing drought and other challenges.

The Meat & Livestock Australia Integrity Systems Company 2025 Strategic Plan has some great synergies with the Ceres Tag development ideals. A short video of this strategy can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P903j_6HDWo
