community service providers, FBC Middlesboro is planning long-term recoveryefforts and asks for other KBF churches to consider how they may help. The churchanticipates receiving work groups in the fall for disaster responses. Additionally, churches may help by collecting cleaning supplies, clothing, school supplies, or giftcards to stores like Kroger or Wal-Mart. CBF Celebrates 20 Years in TampaThe Cooperative Baptist Fellowship gathered June 22-25 for its annual GeneralAssembly in Tampa, celebrating its twentieth anniversary and looking ahead to thefuture in hope, with risk, and as a fellowship of free and faithful Baptists. Memoriesof the organization's early days threaded throughout the gathering, as notableBaptist voices like Molly Marshall, Buddy Shurden, and James Dunn recalled CBF'sorigin. Through worship, business sessions, workshops, auxiliary events, andconversation, speakers and leaders urged the Fellowship to take a risk for thegospel, to seek the energy and excitement that is bubbling up from local churches, and to listen to young leaders in the movement. In business sessions, reports from the 2012 Task Force were shared with theAssembly, Moderator Colleen Burroughs was elected, and CBF's $12.3 millionbudget for 2011-2012 was approved. In Thursday night's worship service, fourteenglobal field personnel were commissioned by the Fellowship to serve among themost marginalized around the world. CBF Coordinator for Global Missions, Rob

Nash, sounded the call for churches and individuals to bind together in networks tofund the passion for missions that is the hallmark of CBF life.

Reflections on KBF InternshipBy Josh Speight, Associate Coordinator for MissionsOn August 5th, Blair Riddle will finish her KBF Missions Internship. Blair served KBFwell for twelve weeks this summer in numerous capacities. The goal of the internshipis to provide a space for a young college student/seminarian to work alongside theKBF Associate Coordinator for Missions and engage with moderate Baptist life inKentucky. The internship serves as a place for learning, connection and explorationinto the various possibilities for ministry through KBF/CBF life.

Because of her time working as the KBF Intern, Blair has been exposed to ministryopportunities such as Extreme Build in McCreary County, Disaster Response in

Middlesboro, summer church groups in Nada/Owlsey County, as well as a variety oflocal church missions. Blair's summer project required her to assist Josh and theMission Work Group in compiling information from KBF churches regarding theirlocal missions involvement.Through her efforts, KBF has the beginnings of a usable Missions Asset Map whichwill allow churches to resource one another through the KBF website. (Moreinformation about the Missions Asset Map will be available this fall). KBF is gratefulto Blair for her hard work and leadership this summer and sends her back to HopeCollege (Michigan) with God's blessings as she embarks upon her senior year.

The KBF Missions Internship program is typically 12 weeks each spring, summer, and fall. If you are interested in learning more about the KBF Missions Internship, please contact Josh Speight [email protected]
