It’s hard to believe that November 2015 marks 20 years of Arbor. Looking back,
I’m astonished that so much time has passed since we first turned a love for riding,
and confidence that we could offer something fresh, into our first board. The only
way I get my head around the years is knowing that we never slowed our pursuit
of craftsmanship, commitment to the environment, and dedication to the good
times that got us here in the first place. For us, it’s been a non-stop journey into
shape, material, art, and life lived in the pursuit of skating and snowboarding. The
funny thing is that I feel like we’re just getting started. So we don’t plan to stop for
long and reminisce. The future looms large and this 20-year offering represents
where the Arbor Collective is heading: a direction defined by a two-decade long
partnership with riders, artists, distributors, dealers, reps, suppliers, media, and our
larger in-house crew. Many have been part of Arbor through the years,
and all have added to what we are today.

The Arbor Collective is a crew of friends with a range of approaches to what, why, and where to ride. Tying these diverse perspectives
together is a shared respect for the environment. That connection is a huge part of why Arbor was founded, and continues to be
a driving force at the brand.
Since day one, we’ve donated a portion of everything sold to groups that protect and restore forests, and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources. This is our Returning Roots program. The effort has been centered on the Koa highlands of Hawaii. We see this as
the best way to give back to the planet and culture that gave us riding in the first place. The native Hawaiians invented surfing as much as 1,000 years ago, on boards made from Koa wood. If you surf
mountains, sidewalks, or swell - the Hawaiians get a nod of gratitude.
The Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative is our main Returning Roots partner today. This group is not just planting trees - they
are rebuilding forests. By Spring 2015, they will have planted over 300,000 Koa trees on 800 acres of former forestland, with a full range of native understory plants to complete the ecosystem. The Hawaiian Legacy Reforestation Initiative is helping Arbor to do our part in the
restoration and protection of forests, while we strike an important balance with our use of sustainably sourced wood materials.

From the spines of Valdez, to the varied terrain of Jackson Hole, and the frozen city
scape of Quebec, snowboarding evolves from the terrain in which it takes place, and the
result is an activity whose personalities are as varied as its settings. Arbor Snowboards’
team spans the gap from heritage to progression, and freestyle to freeride. We couldn’t
think of a better group of individuals to represent not only the current state of
snowboarding, but also the current state of Arbor Snowboards.
If you could extract snowboarding’s soul, and distill it in a protected region
of the Teton Mountains, you would end up with a substance of distinction
and class. You would end up with Bryan Iguchi. Rising to fame in the early
90’s, Bryan first received accolades for his classic style embodied by shifty
backside 180’s and characterized by unmistakably frozen denim. Decades
later, Bryan has matured into what is possibly the most well respected and
smoothest spirit in snowboarding. Few have stood the test of time with as
much commitment and dedication as Guch, and we couldn’t be more
stoked to move into the next chapter as partners.

Curtis is a powder hound whose life revolves around surfing the earth
24/7/365. This salty surfer dog calls Lake Tahoe home and logs more days
out of bounds than a golf ball in a senior golf league. A veteran of the
Lake Tahoe battlefield, Curtis has been putting out quality video parts for
over a decade with notable appearances in the Neoproto and Think Thank
filmographies. Curtis’ style pairs a looseness reminiscent of surfing’s past,
with a technical and knowledgeable approach to the mountains
that can only be learned through a tenure of experience.

Few men can flip calves and ride horses as gracefully as they can flip tricks
and ride mountains. This cowboy-snowboarder half-breed is a man’s man,
and you do not want to mess with him. One time, while herding cattle on
his ranch in Ten Sleep, Wyoming, Carter kicked an unruly horse in the chin.
The descendants of that horse are known today as giraffes. If you don’t
believe me, just look in Samuel L. Jackson’s phone, where Mark Carter’s
number can be found under the contact, Bad Mother... Carter’s own personal
brand (pun intended) of reckless but calculated snowboarding has landed
him on the podium of prestigious events such as the North Face Masters and
the Natural Selection. We believe this is only the beginning for Carter,
and that he’s yet to leave his Mark on snowboarding.

Frank has arrest warrants out in three provinces for a killing spree that started
in the early 2000’s and continues to this day. Until the Déjà Vu videos brought
Frank’s rail slaying prowess to national attention, he flew mostly under the
radar, documenting his urban assault in Quebec’s local Brother’s Factory
films. After winning an X-Games gold medal in 2013, Frank went into hiding,
filming a slew of unreleased footage during the 2013-14 season. Frank plans
on turning himself in in the Fall of 2016 when he releases incriminating
footage of his world-wide rail terrorizing massacre in Déjà Vu 2.
We’re happy to welcome this convict to the team and will do
whatever is possible to keep him on the streets,
keeping the rail population in check.

Before becoming a professional snowboarder, Brandon Hammid a.k.a.
“Buffmoose” spent 6 years in the Air Force. Certain occurrences, like the
time he almost blew up Ogden, UT, with a truck full of poorly packed
explosives, might have hindered his ascent to military greatness, but none
of that stopped him from quickly rising to the elite ranks of jibbers within
professional snowboarding. A Utah native and Brighton local, Buffmoose
now spends his days dropping hammers with the same technical precision
he once applied to building bombs… which might not be a bad thing
considering that the city of Ogden is still standing.

Scotty is one imaginative human being. He always seems to have one foot
grounded in reality and one foot out. It’s no surprise that he treats his
snowboarding the same way. Last season, a leading prosthetics company even
offered him a sponsorship after hearing that he landed the world’s first one
footed double backflip! The ensuing conversation was embarrassing for both
parties and that story may or may not be true. That occurrence, however, is
just a footnote in Scotty’s extensive career that includes landing on the cover
of multiple magazines, becoming one of the most viewed riders
on the web, and earning prestigious awards such as
Snowboarder Magazine’s Superpark Standout.

THE 2016 ARBOR SNOWBOARDS COLLECTION
P: Sean K. Sullivan
The 2016 Arbor Snowboards line is our most comprehensive collection to date. Among many other highlights, look for a range of new models and sizes, five new series built around the System Camber design, and three new artist collaborations. After 20 years of building snowboards, we’re proud that the 2016 collection stays true to our roots, while exploring the limitless nature of design, the power of alliance, and the fun still built into every turn.

Grip Tech is a tri-radial sidecut design that is not
“blended.” Natural shaping intersections, that in
the past were eliminated, have been transformed
into heel-and-toe contact points that provide a
direct, more ergonomic way to grip the snow when
additional control is needed. The extra contacts
also form pivot zones that make turning easier and
more natural. Grip Tech effectively moves a board’s
primary interface with the snow underfoot, allowing
us to deliver designs that don’t lose performance as
we lift leading sections of the effective edge from the
snow for a less grabby ride. Those designs include
rocker, or camber with our new Uprise Fenders.
Uprise Fenders pull the outside contact zones off
the snow with angled 3º risers on all
System Camber designs.
The System utilizes rocker and camber profiles created using the parabolic arc, which progressively reduces the amount of
rocker or camber toward the tip and tail of a snowboard, creating nice low profiles. On our System Rocker designs,
this ensures that the outside contact points are close enough to the snow to engage when maximum performance is
required - higher speeds, fully loaded turns, and bigger landings. On System Camber designs, this guarantees that the
outside contact points do not dig too far into the snow, creating a cleaner, less catchy performance
that makes it easier to turn, spin, and ride fast.

The System is a design platform that delivers a cleaner ride without
forfeiting edge performance. The System improves both rocker and
camber shapes, without hybridizing the two together, which we think
sacrifices the inherent benefits of each. The System design eliminates
the leverage required to release and re-engage a snowboard’s outside
contact points, while creating a highly effective,
more direct connection to the snow.
Arbor now offers two full lines of its System design:
Each is the result of blending Grip Tech with a Parabolic Profile.
The System Camber
design offers a poppy
ride with crisp, fully
engaged performance.
The System Rocker design

with natural float and
cleaner tracking.

Almost all Arbor Snowboards are made with a sustainably sourced wood
or Bamboo topsheet. We call this construction a Power Ply. The natural
grain creates the style we’ve been known for since we launched twenty years ago.
Less well recognized is how the technology improves the strength, durability, and
return of our snowboards.
The Power Ply works like an added layer of fiberglass. During construction, the
natural wood or bamboo fibers are turned into a composite layer inside the board;
but the process takes time.
Raw timber must first be soaked so that it can be sliced or “veneered” into sheets,
which are assembled into “faces,” then backed with a special fleece material,
precision sanded, and pre-laminated to a protective foil, made in part from
natural caster oil.
The finished topsheet is at last ready to be built into a snowboard. In the end, the process makes Arbor Power Ply deigns the
most labor intensive snowboards on the market. The resulting performance, board life, and finish quality are worth the extra effort, in addition to the reduction in our
reliance on man made glues, coatings, and composites.
How a board approaches terrain is critical, so a huge effort goes into our tip profiles. We match board shapes with these profiles in order to create designs
for specific terrain and riding styles.

A women’s specific all-mountain snowboard, the Swoon is built on a mountain-twin shape
with a medium flex. Responsive pop and powerful edge control make the Swoon the perfect
board for women who don’t let ski area boundaries limit their riding. More responsive than
the Cadence, The Swoon offers increased stability at higher speeds for the more
advanced rider. We have expanded the Swoon offering to include
both System Rocker and System Camber versions.

elixir, we work hard to elicit notes of all-mountain versatility and cross terrain mobility.
Whether you prefer it on the rocks, in a straight shot down the steeps or barreling through
the trees, we are confident that your palate will be pleased with the broad scope
of performance that only the Whiskey can provide.

At times it can be the wind beneath your skirt or a prologue to military conflict, but here and

is so rowdy, you may need a bomb shelter to cope with its explosive aura. You read that right

each and every rail that strays into your unforgiving path. Blunted tips and a soft flex make

We know it’s all about finding your rhythm on the mountain and that’s why we created the
Cadence. This freestyle-oriented, women’s specific snowboard has a softer flex that makes
turning effortless and learning tricks easy like Sunday morning. The Cadence is geared
towards freestyle riding but doesn’t take kindly to labels. Bring the Cadence in any terrain
and you will see, first-hand, that this board can hold its own across
a wide range of conditions and variables.

Before instagrams, there were epigrams; saying such as, “the more things change, the more
they stay the same.” And before a variety of hybrid technologies bombarded and confused
the common snowboarder, there was classic camber. The Relapse is an ode to our roots; the
perfect board for a rider looking for traditional snap, turning and stability in a twin freestyle
snowboard. There are those who prefer a straightforward pepperoni pizza when confronted
with a supermarket freezer packed with artisanal gluten-free flatbreads;
and for those, we provide the Relapse.

The Zygote Twin is a non-symmetrical twin, a fusion of true-twin on-snow geometry with
distinct tip and tail outlines that pay homage to the shaping and art traditions of early skate
and snow design. While dissimilar in shape, the tip and tail share identical widths, heights
and lengths, creating a symmetrical twin ride designed
for true-cambered, freestyle snowboarding.

The Heritage Series was created to
commemorate 20 years of Arbor and our
initial practice of using the same wood
topsheet across all of our shapes.
A platform that helped established the Arbor
look, this Series brings together six of our most
popular shapes as a collection. Each of the six
shapes will be offered in two or three sizes.
Each offering will be produced in a limited
95-piece production run. Every board will be
made with a premium, sustainably sourced
Palisander Wood Power Ply and matching base.
The design, in the best Arbor tradition, gives
each and every snowboard produced a
“one-of-a-kind” wood grain finish. Combined
in this matched collection, the individual
shapes stand out as a unique convergence
of function and style.

As our product offering grows, so does the scope of our team. Originally starting as
a small downhill skate crew, our family of riders has grown to reflect the evolving
environment of skate. Now that small crew has grown into the best downhill team in the
industry. We’ve brought in powerful street riders to grow the Whiskey Project and young
guns to back up the performance of our Sucrose Initiative wheels. From fresh blood to
veteran, we believe great brands are built on great people. It is our goal
to elevate Arbor and its family riders by building great content
for our customers on a consistent basis.

Born in Petaluma, CA - James grew up riding with some of downhill’s most
influential skaters. For years, he’s been showing that there’s no road that
can’t be conquered. He has perfected his abilities to skate anything at speed,
while building the discipline required to keep calm when the consequences
are high. James is no stranger to the racecourse and podium, yet he’s most at

Oakland native, Liam Morgan helped lead the evolution of what freeride
skateboarding is today. For years, Liam has been re-defining the sport,
blending speed and massive slides with an ability to ride switch at all levels
and a unique confidence on both mountain and urban roads. He has proven
that skill and style still drive top level skateboarding, and that being
a professional downhill skateboarder isn’t just about racing.

Tyler Howell came out of the local Santa Barbara surf scene to surprise us
all with a natural ability on any board and a propensity for going big - often
to the joy and terror of anyone in the vicinity. Since joining the crew, he’s
worked hard and dedicated himself to skateboarding - and skateboarding has
given back. In the mountains, the parks, or whatever landscape he ends up
skating. Tyler has a long time ahead of him to shine with speed and style.

Brandon Tissen has the ability to pull tricks that make you look twice.
With a strong capacity as a skatepark rat, his style and skill flow seamlessly
from downhill to coping. Brandon is at the forefront of what it means to
throw down in any discipline, but his true talent shines when he brings
all these styles together. Brandon is actively defining the future of hybrid
skateboarding. His style mirrors his personality - smooth and understated
with an underlying intensity that is prone to pop off at any moment.

Hailing from the rural cuts of upstate New York, Cameron slays concrete in
a way that few can match. Known for his clean style and high-speed lines in
the tightest transitions, Cameron skates with precision while maintaining the
vibe of what skateboarding is all about. On any given day you can catch him
at the Venice skatepark giving one-man demos that show what it means
to skate with determination and flow.

Coming from America’s hometown of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Sean has
brought over one of the most stylish frontside feeble grinds to the west coast

of the biggest gaps and stairs with his patented back 360’s and backside
bigspins. Sean is an all terrain vehicle and backs it with speed and finesse.

Someone once said, “You guys must be drinking Whiskey if you think Arbor
can sell street skates.” Three years down the road, it turns out we were able
to do both. We just stayed on course: built from our roots,
trusted our team, and stuck to the Arbor story.
The Whiskey Collection is a deck only offering that draws on Arbor’s Artist
Collective to increasingly deliver fresh graphics. The boards are built with a
blended construction of six Maple plies for the lightweight performance
you expect, and a Bamboo ply for added pop and durability.
Bamboo is a grass that is one of the strongest materials on the planet. It has
40 times the effective life of carbon fiber and provides considerably more
return than traditional materials. Bamboo’s weight-to-strength ratio
is superior to steel, yet it is light, flexible, and resistant to compression.

The Heritage Collection was created to celebrate 20 years of Arbor and the wood shop
tradition that helped inspire our founding. These hand-shaped, solid wood planks are made
in a style that evolved between the early 60’s and mid 70’s. A time when genuine craftsman
were intersecting line and grain to create shapes that would define the future.
The Heritage Skates are made out of premium Hawaiian Koa wood sourced from
sustainable “wind fall” trees off the Big Island. The boards come with custom Heritage
Series wheels and Bennett Trucks for a turn that has that sidewalk surf vibe built in.
For the collector, each model is individually engraved and numbered to mark
the limited 95 piece per shape production run.
Established in 2010, Caliber Truck Co. has quickly become one of the most recognized performance truck brands on the market.
Quality, performance, and amazing content has put their products on the map and caught the attention of skaters around the world.
The first trucks to market were their Forty-Four and Fifty reverse kingpin models. With help from top riders like Liam Morgan, Caliber rapidly became one of the most influential brands in
downhill skateboarding. With the introduction of their Standard design, Caliber now has a truck for all skaters.
Today, Caliber is the go-to truck for Arbor Skateboards. The partnership has reinforced our Certified Complete offering of fully
assembled skateboards built using select, high-end components that match the performance and geometry of each of our shapes.

The Forty-Four Caliber is built for speed. The 44-degree
hanger angle allows performance riders to push the
limits of downhill racing. To further optimize the trucks’
stability, the bushings are configured with two Blood
Orange 89a Ultra-High Rebound barrels to avoid high-
speed wobbles. Like all Caliber Trucks, the kingpin is
made of grade 8 steel to ensure that your trucks will stay
in one piece, no matter how hard you push them.
F O R T Y – F O U R1 0 ”
The ultimate longboard truck. The Fifty Caliber is
stable at high speeds while also having an optimal
angle for making strong carves. The hanger is not
only reversible, but when flipped there is no rake
to throw off the ride. The pivot of the baseplate is
self-contained, keeping it from having any weakness.
The Blood Orange 89a Ultra-High Rebound bushing
combo make for ideal responsiveness.

Caliber’s standard kingpin geometry provides
maximum stability under high speeds and is backed
with one of the toughest grinding surfaces on any
standard kingpin truck. The classic tombstone hanger
profile keeps grinding smoother and longer. The
Caliber Standard truck base plates come with an 8
hole pattern providing more wheelbase options for
different styles of skating. The Blood Orange 92a
Ultra-High Rebound bushings only add to Caliber’s
expertise in having one of the most stable and
responsive trucks in the game.

The Sucrose Initiative was developed to bring together rider based
design, performance across a wide range of conditions, and an
effort to start reducing our reliance on petroleum based materials.
G R O OV E T U B E C O R E S
Arbor’s Groovetube core has a wider “tube” profile that allows
the wheel to hold its shape where it’s supposed to and flex where
it needs to. This greatly improves performance across of a range
of conditions by improving grip, roll, and slide. Though wide and
supportive, the Groovetube core is only 35mm tall, smaller than
any other core on the market, and gives you more life out of your
wheel than all of the competition.
S U G A R F O R M U L A
Arbor’s new Sugar Formula significantly improves performance
and creates one of the longest-lasting wheels on the market. The
natural component also reduces, in a small but important way, the
petroleum footprint of our wheels lessening the environmental
impact of constantly sliding wheels. This resistance to
deterioration ensures that you maintain speed and performance in
your riding, improving grip, slide, and the life of your wheels.

We are proud to introduce the Arbor Denim program, which is
built on a craftsmanship and engineering tradition developed
through 20 years of bringing Arbor snowboards and skateboards
to life; a tradition where time, material, and design set a more
definitive tone for quality.
Arbor Denim starts at the finest mills on the planet and is
delivered worn well from day one. A hand crafted indigo
construction is designed for function and tailored for people who
surf sidewalk, snow, or swell. Arbor Denim features a contoured
top block fit, outdoor duty strength, reinforced asymmetrical back
pockets, and a protective internal fly.
We believe denim has a grain that like wood stands the test of
time. Both require a high level of workmanship if they are to be
converted into timeless product that will deliver performance, and
stand up to the elements of our environment.

Arbor started printing t-shirts 20 years ago.
In 2006, we were one of the first companies to introduce bamboo-
based fabrics to the market. We chose bamboo for both its
ecological and performance benefits. Bamboo is an incredibly
renewable, fast growing plant that rapidly self propagates.
It is sustainably cultivated, requiring a minimal land and water
footprint and zero pesticides or fertilizers. It also happens to be
amazingly soft, breathable, while providing better
UV protection and moisture wicking.
Today bamboo is just one part of an extensive line of t-shirts built
on a range of fabrics, including organic cotton, heathers, slubs,
pigment dyes, and recycled poly.

Its estimated that we toss out at least 50 billion single-use water bottles each year. Eighty percent of those
water bottles end up in landfills, which means that for every 10 bottles we drink, only two end up in the
recycle bin. The Arbor x Mizu water bottle is about helping to turn that trend around.

The Arbor Collective is a diverse cooperative of
athletes, artists, designers, and friends who share a
respect for the planet. Since 1995, it’s been good
times, all day, everyday, without fail. Along the way,
we worked to combine time honored craftsmanship
and forward thinking construction, with a serious
commitment to the environment.
The result - Arbor Snowboards, Arbor Skateboards, and
Arbor Apparel; three stand alone lines connected by a
shared perspective on design, quality, and performance.
