2017-2018

Kehillah students are empowered with the knowledge, values, and community to flourish in high school, college, and a rapidly changing world.

2017-2018

ANNUAL REPORT

KEHILLAH JEWISH HIGH SCHOOL 2017-2018

Dear Kehillah,

In these difficult times here in America and around the world, what we stand for at Kehillah is so very important. I write these words the day after the terrible events in Pittsburgh and I am strongly reminded why this school, its philosophy and approach and culture, means so much.

Kehillah is not just a college prep school like so many others, although people occasionally forget that we perform that function extraordinarily well. Kehillah is consciously and decidedly (although, as with all endeavors, imperfectly) part of the solution, part of the progress of culture. I ask you to please take a moment to have a good look at Kehillah’s 4 Commitments.

I want to express my gratitude to the faculty and staff. These are the people who work so hard to make this school happen every day.

And I want to express my gratitude to the parents, who share in this project in the most incredible way imaginable, sending your children here, to complete the human equation that makes Kehillah so important.

And lastly I want to express my gratitude to our many financial supporters. “Investing in the future” is a hackneyed phrase, but I can’t think of an organization more deserving of that description than Kehillah.

May the ripples that spread from here bring a measure of repair to our world.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD CHAIR

Our 4 Commitments1) Everyone counts. 2) Everyone has equal access to great learning. 3) Everyone’s unique talents are valued equally. 4) We take responsibility for ourselves, our

learning, and our community.

Our StoryKehillah Jewish High School is distinguished by an exceptional academic program and a supportive environment that pairs rich traditions with the best of the Silicon Valley mindset.

At Kehillah, students embark on a journey of self-discovery guided by a community of passionate educators. They graduate with the knowledge, values, and community that enable them to create extraordinary futures.

2018 Annual Gala Sponsors

Kehillah’s financial position continued to improve throughout fiscal year 2017-2018. Tuition and other income accounted for 83% of our total operating expenses, reflecting a continued growth trajectory. All aspects of our annual spending reflected sound fiscal management and our continued commitment to ensuring that all spending strategically supports Kehillah’s programs and growth.

We continued to maintain our mission of providing a Kehillah education to qualified students regardless of their family’s financial resources. In the 2017-2018 fiscal year, we awarded $2,200,000 in financial aid.
