Revenirea din vacanþĄ e întotdeauna dificilĄ. De aceea, ne-am gândit sĄ vĄ facem mai uŢoarĄ tranziþia Ţi vĄ propunem sĄ mai cĄlĄtoriþi puþin, împreunĄ cu noi, prelungind farmecul zilelor însorite, în locuri minunate cuprinse în paginile acestui numĄr din Apron News. În 21 iulie 2012, la BucureŢti începea cel mai mare miting aviatic din România. Posibil s[ mai fi fost unul de genul [sta prin ’40 Ţi ceva, când se d[deau americanii cu avioanele Ţi f[ceau tot felul de tonouri Ţi acroba\ii ca s[ scape întregi în excursia lor pentru a vizita rafin[riile din Prahova.Cu câteva ore Ţi 43 de ani înainte, un sco\ian din America, cu o bucata de kilt Ţi o frântur[ de lemn din avionul fra\ilor Wright asupra lui, se plimba pe un t[pŢan plin de praf. On the 21st of July, 2012, in Bucharest began the biggest air show in Romania. Medicii l-au obligat atunci sã se odihneascã, iar repausul a fost pentru el un chin, neputând sã stea departe de ritmul febril Ţi de pasagerii sãi, de care s-a ataŢat. şi se pare cã Ţi reciproca e valabilã. Lucrul acesta e limpede din felul în care Iulian îŢi trece în revistã galeria de clienþi, doctorul Donose fiind cap de listã, poate tocmai pentru cã, la început, a fost puþin cam recalcitrant, pânã a vãzut cu cine stã de vorbã, devenind apoi prieteni Ţi declarând cã numai personalul PMR de la Frankfurt e mai bun decât cel de pe “Henri Coandã”. sfîrŢitul primelor 12 ore ale primei ture de SAPMR, se mai diminuase sub cãmãŢile ude de alergãturã. Ţi mai ales reacþia pasagerei de origine arabã dezechilibrându-i pe cei doi bãrbaþi, religia musulmanã impunând binecunoscutele restricþii care nu permit bãrbaþilor nici mãcar sã priveascã insistent o femeie. AŢa cã în momentul în care s-au vãzut nevoiþi sã o atingã, pentru a o ridica Ţi duce la locul sãu din aeronavã, femeia a început sã se zbatã, provocând o sârbã ad-hoc pe scara avionului, doi paŢi înainte Ţi doi-înapoi, cei doi vãzându-se prinŢi într-o situaþie imposibilã, între respectul pentru religia femeii Ţi imposibilitatea fizicã a acesteia de a sta pe propriile picioare. So, the moment when they had to lift her up and take her to her seat, the woman started to struggle, creating an involuntary dance on the aircraft stairs, two steps forward and two-back, thus getting on the plane became extremely difficult. The agents found themselves in an impossible situation,

caught between the respect for the woman’s religion and her physical incapacity to stand up on her own. Surely, Cosmin is the last person to complain – and he doesn’t, anyhow – for his physical shape, constantly trained at the gym, needed a special order for his uniform, adjusted to his size. His appearance didn’t remain unnoticed, even the flight attendants changed the superior attitude his colleagues were accustomed to. At a certain time, even, overwhelmed by Cosmin’s charm, but also by his level of professionalism, an elderly lady from the United States insisted on asking him all sorts of questions, more or less discrete, about his personal life and professional path, culminating with the astonishing proposal: „Can I take you home?!”

Într-o zi caldã de toamnã… Vã invitãm la un picnic londonez, un picnic care sã ne ducã cu gândul la eleganþã, la nobleþe, la altfel de….. “doamne” Ţi …. “domni”. Despre aceste lucruri vã va povesti Palatul MogoŢoaia Ţi împrejurimile sale, palat devenit din 1945 monument istoric Ţi dãruit în anul 1911 de domnul Valentin Bibescu (aviator de renume) doamnei sale Martha.Pe domeniu veþi întâlni multe specii de arbori seculari, stejari, plopi, sãlcii Ţi chiar… un parc englezesc. În perioada preistoricã, peste 50% din suprafaþa Terrei era reprezentatã de pãduri. În prezent, acestea reprezintã mai puþin de 27%.Fãcând o comparaþie cu Londra, unde spaþiul verde raportat la un locuitor este de 25 mp, la BucureŢti acesta este de doar 1 mp/locuitor.Vã invitãm sã vã pierdeþi pe potecile pãdurii Ţi sã vã imaginaþi poveŢti cu domniþe din vremurile trecute. Cu siguranþã vã veþi îndrãgosti de acest loc, departe de zonele urbane unde combinaþia de emisii poluante Ţi condiþii atmosferice specifice este propice formãrii smogului (aer

Care este diferenþa între organic, bio, eco? Niciuna. Termenul organic se utilizeazã în spaþiul anglo saxon, bio – în spaþiul franco-german iar eco… înseamnã exact acelaŢi lucru. În România, pe sigla de certificare apare termenul Agriculturã Ecologicã.

What is the difference between organic, bio and eco? None. The term organic is used within the Anglo-Saxon area, the French-German zone uses the term bio and eco ... it means exactly the same thing.

In Romania, the term Organic Agriculture is written on the certification logo.So, give a higher credit for small, unattractive fruit and vegetables, muddy roots... (washed, of course!), of small eggs of different colors and even a bit dirty (we also wash them before use, anyway), of selected materials free of GMO (OMG in Romanian, which has a completely different meaning than the one found on social networks), grown on non chemically fertilized soils and not having additives such as preservatives or dyes.

De prin 2006, ne tot strãduim sã ne împrietenim cu mediul, prin acþiuni de ecologizare a pãdurii sau plantare de copaci. De data aceasta, þinând cont de recomandãrile de specialitate, ne-am gândit sã schimbãm puþin abordarea Ţi sã continuãm programul nostru de responsabilitate socialã “Prietenii aeroportului – prietenii mediului”, atacând una dintre vulnerabilitãþile comportamentului specific românesc Ţi contrazicând ceea ce a devenit deja un tipar deranjant în petrecerea timpului la iarbã verde: focul fãcut în cele mai nepotrivite locuri, muzica de proastã calitate Ţi munþii de gunoaie rãmaŢi în urma picnicului, acoperind în întregime zonele verzi cu pungi de plastic Ţi sticle. Am încercat sã oferim un model european de civilizaþie ecologicã, organizând un picnic... englezesc. Ne-am echipat cu tot arsenalul British pe care l-am avut în dotare: pãlãrii de paie, coŢuri de

rãchitã, þinutã casual – cã nu pot sã spun altfel -, rogojini Ţi ochelari de soare. Pânã Ţi autocarul care ne-a dus la MogoŢoaia era un double decker – în variantã autohtonã, desigur. Am avut chiar Ţi concurs de prãjituri, „CNAB – o companie cu gust”. şi trofee! Când am ajuns, însã, la tea time, toatã construcþia noastrã londonezã meticulos elaboratã a început sã se descoasã pe la încheieturi, pe unde Ţi-au croit drum sigur accente bãŢtinaŢe inevitabile, strecurând aromele ucigãtoare de mici autentic româneŢti.Cert este cã obiectivul acþiunii „Respectul faþã de mediu – un mod de viaþã” a fost atins, iar noi am demonstrat cã Ţtim sã aplicãm nu numai Legea 54/2012 privind desfãŢurarea activitãþilor de picnic, ci Ţi legea bunei dispoziþii, a bunului simþ Ţi a lucrului bine fãcut.

Since 2006 we’ve been trying to make friends with the environment by forest cleaning or planting trees. This time we decided to slightly change the approach and continue our social responsibility program „Friends of the Airport - Friends of the Environment” attacking one of the typically Romanian behavior vulnerabilities, confronting what has become a disturbing pattern in enjoying a picnic: making fire in all the wrong places, bad music and mountains of trash covering the green areas with plastic bags and bottles. We tried to offer a European model of ecological it civilization, organizing a British picnic. Therefore, we fully equipped with the entire British arsenal we could possibly get: straw hats, wicker baskets, casual clothes - I can’t say otherwise -, mats and sunglasses. Even the bus that took us to MogoŢoaia was a double-decker - the local version, of course. We even had a homemade cake contest, “Bucharest Airports National

Company – a tasteful company”. And trophies!However, at tea time, all our London like minutely designed architecture began to come undone at the seams, letting the glorious primary flavors of the authentic Romanian grilled meat rolls to safely make way.The fact is that the objective of “Respect for the environment - a way of life” has been met, and we proved not only to know how to implement Law 54/2012 on picnic activities, but also the laws on having a good time, common sense and a well done job.

Aeroporturile din întreaga lume se confruntã cu diverse incidente de securitate care uneori pot degenera în acte de intervenþie ilicitã, alteori se soluþioneazã cu succes, fãrã victime sau pagube materiale. Aeroportul Internaþional Philadelphia s-a confruntat cu un incident de aceastã naturã, în luna martie a.c., în urma cãruia “un tânãr de 29 de ani din Philadelphia a fost arestat dupã ce operatorii de la controlul de securitate din Aeroportul Internaþional Philadelphia au descoperit praf explozibil Ţi artificii în rucsacul acestuia”, conform declaraþiilor Administraþiei pentru Securitatea Transporturilor din SUA.Joseph Picklo din Dallas, Pennsylvania, este acuzat de “încercare de a introduce un dispozitiv exploziv la bordul aeronavei”, conform datelor Procuraturii din Philadelphia.Purtãtorul de cuvânt al poliþiei locale, Christine O'Brien, a precizat cã la faþa locului a venit echipa pirotehnicã, iar un oficial al poliþiei federale a declarat cã „din rezultatele preliminarii nu sunt indicii care sã ne ducã cu gândul la intenþii teroriste ”.Picklo a trecut prin controlul de securitate pentru a se îmbarca pe zborul companiei United Airlines cu destinaþia San Francisco, „moment în care a fost descoperitã în bagajul sãu o sticlã din plastic conþinând o substanþã explozivã”, conform comunicatului dat de Procuratura U.S. El a fost oprit de reprezentanþii TSA (Administraþia pentru Securitatea Transporturilor) dupã ce “s-a stabilit cã bagajul sãu conþinea câteva articole interzise, inclusiv o sticlã de apã plinã cu praf explozibil Ţi artificii M-80” (M-Military, 80-dimensiunea tubului, creat iniþial în scop militar, ca simulator al explozibililor reali), conform declaraþiilor TSA. She also stated that the checkpoint was closed soon after the items had been being discovered and the passengers were directed to Terminal C. At 6:18 the checkpoint was reopened, the airport operations were not affected, being carried out normally. July was marked in a unique way at Bucharest Henri Coand[ International Airport by a visit at midnight of a bride „stolen” out of the wedding party and brought to the airport for an ad-hoc travel! It was actually a photo shoot done, indeed, during the party and inspired by the idea of an unconventional bride, just waiting to go on the honeymoon, who uses a dower chest from her parents, larger and much different than the ordinary trolley. We were excited about Maria En[ceanu’s initiative and we asked her to share with the readers’ of Apron

News some of the special moments photographed inside the Departures Terminal. Something borrowed - sneakers, something old - suitcase, something red – the car, as a stallion and even something stolen - the very bride! By wearing a 2 in 1 dress, Maria was able to get ready for her trip immediately, surrounded by the enthusiasm of her firends – „the thieves” and by the amused smiles of the passengers.

considered the center of the European Istanbul, once called Pera – “the other side” – residence for the Jewish merchants first and then for the Genovese merchants, and in the Ottoman era, for European diplomats. And once you’ve crossed the huge boulevard, at a short distance from its end, you can enjoy the splendid panorama of the city by climbing the eleven floors of Galata Tower, built in 1300 by the Genovese, in order to reinforce the fortification system of Galata. A stroll can be prolonged for hours without any fear to get bored. Short breaks are more than welcome to rest your legs, heavily tested in the maze of the streets, while the taste of strong tea, drunk in small sips, or that of Turkish coffee prepared on sand, in its original recipe, is invigorating and memorable. You learn from merchants who keep you as much as possible in their shop, tempting you with a tea and a hookah, you learn from overly friendly waiters, always ready to share, with delight, some information about your place of origin and at least one greeting in your language, whatever that is, you learn about the long

Istanbul ca în propria împãrãþie. În ceasul serii, aerul rãsunã de chemarea muezinilor, care te poartã ca o boare tainicã de vânt, Ţi mai adânc înãuntrul poveŢtii. Atât de ofertant este oraŢul acesta, compus din straturi sedimentate de istorie, suprapuse unele peste celelalte ca vãlurile unei cadâne, dezvãluind doar parþial Ţi iluzoriu frumuseþea-i ascunsã, încât nici cel mai ambiþios dintre turiŢti nu apucã sã vadã Ţi sã experimenteze tot, într-o singurã cãlãtorie. În cazul meu, traversarea Podului Galata, vizitarea pãrþii asiatice - Üskudar, Kadiköy, HaydarpaŢa, ca Ţi croaziera pe Bosfor sau pe Insulele Prinþilor au rãmas în aŢteptare, pânã data viitoare.

Colourful and noisy, the street is a show per se, giving you everything with a little ritual: osmanli macunu – a sweet and coloured paste of melted sugar on a stick, dondurma, elastic ice cream made out of salep – an extract of orchid bulbs – and mastic – a natural resin, served up with artistic representation, pomegranate juice, freshly squeezed from fruit chosen by the client himself, baked chestnuts, sending their flavours away. The Turkish people are excellent hosts, great conversation lovers, the longer, the better, proud of their country and generous in advice, treating the tourist as a personal guest and turning conventional decency into warm courtesy. They’re big cat lovers, proven by the

multitude of plump, gentle and caressed at all times felines, walking the streets of Istanbul like their own kingdom. At evening time, the air echoes the muezzins call, carrying you away like a mysterious breeze of wind, taking you deeper into the story. So rich is this town, composed of stratified layers of history, stacked one above the other like the waves of an odalisque, only partially and illusively revealing her hidden beauty, that not even the most ambitious tourist gets to see and experience everything in one trip. In my case, crossing the Galata Bridge, visiting the Asian side – Üskudar, Kadiköy, HaydarpaŢa, as well as the cruise on Bosphorus and the visit to the Princes’ Islands remained on hold until next time.

Este dur, violent Ţi are atâta tensiune încât, în scurt timp, nu mai sesizaþi în ce limb[ se vorbeŢte, garantez. AŢa c[, dac[ aveþi cumva prejudec[þi legate de filmele europene, „Headhunters” o s[ v[ conving[ s[ cam uitaþi de ele. Filmat în doar 40 de zile, cu un buget inacceptabil de mic pentru regizorii hollywoodieni, pelicula regizat[ de Martin Tyldum dup[ romanul de mare succes al lui Jo Nesbø, are toate ingredientele care s[-l transforme în – îndr[znesc s[ spun - thriller-ul anului pentru c[ are suspans, urm[riri, cascadorii, tr[dare, iubire, scene comice, r[sturn[ri de situaþie cu totul neaŢteptate, toate dozate cu inteligenþ[ în momente de mare intensitate – unele Ţocante, altele hilare – imprevizibilul Ţi inventivitatea fiind nota definitorie a acestui fim, motiv pentru care se pare c[ vom avea parte, cât de curând, de un remake în variant[ hollywoodian[. O alt[ arm[ secret[ cu care Tyldum a mers la sigur este alegerea pe care a f[cut-o pentru rolul principal - Aksel Hennie, c[ruia îi reuŢeŢte magistral un amestec de vulnerabilitate Ţi forþ[, de p[cate grele Ţi Ţarm indubitabil, schimbându-Ţi identitatea f[r[ întrerupere, de-a lungul întregului film. „My name is Roger Brown. I’m 1,68 metres tall. You won’t need a shrink to realize I need compensation” – I don’t know what this statement might mean to others, but I can tell you it was striking enough for me to go and see the Norwegian movie „Headhunters”. If you think the language may set you back, I guarrantee you’ll very soon get caught in the tightly constructed plot, which twists and turns keeping the audience both enthralled and entertaining. The film is so tough and moves along at such a great pace that you’ll shortly know nothing about the

language they speak. So if you have any preconceived notions about the European movies, „Headhunters” will be a good reason to forget about them.It was shot in no more than 40 days, with a hardly acceptable budget for the Hollywood producers, but Martin Tyldum’s movie adapted Jo Nesbo’s bestseller using all the necessary pieces to turn it into the thriller of the year - there is tension, wild chasing, love and betrayal, power and mystery, stunts and dark comedy, constant series of surprises right up to the end, and they are all intelligently balanced to keep pace in exciting moments - either shocking or hilarious - unpredictibility being the key issue of the movie. That’s why it seems an American remake of the film is in the works. But let me doubt the Hollywood filmmakers could possibly do it any better or preserve Martin Tyldum’s personal touch coming straight from Hitchcock and the classy way he masters the game with characters and audience as well. Another secret and successfull clue for Tyldum was the choice he made for the leading role actor - Aksel Hennie; he has that mix of vulnerability and

strength, he’s so flawed and at the same time he’s so charming; and he changes identity throughout the movie. He has no identity until he actually comes back and finds himself at the end as a survivor. He has this inner core that’s small and believes his beautiful Amazonian blonde wife will leave him as soon as he stops buying her expensive gifts. Roger Brown is a little poodle trying to be an alpha dog - he loves his tailor made suits, his car, his thirty million house he can’t afford, he steals and lies, but inside is this little guy who always wants to be big.

The chemistry between Aksel Hennie and Synnove Macody Lund, the one who plays his wife, is also so obvious that no one can see that it’s the first time she’s in front of the camera – she’s actually a film critic. That stunning Scandinavian goddess is so very naked emotionally in front of the camera. All I’m trying to say is this Norwegian movie scrumbles down any usual movie to rebuild it in a perfect mix of screenplay, directing and acting, taking it up to the level of a masterpiece which I highly reccommend right for succeeding to stay out of the Hollywood touch. And for the fun of those I couldn’t persuade to see „Headhunters”, I’m looking forward for the next Norwegian movie.

Manuscrisul asupra cãruia trebuie sã-Ţi exprime opinia, intitulat Dulce Blasfemie, reprezintã o introducere în sufism, privit ca dimensiune interioarã, ezotericã a Islamului, surprinzându-i esenþa, traducându-i mesajul în raportarea la viaþã, la divinitate, la propria persoanã. Lumea exoticã în care pãtrunde Ella este centratã pe povestea întâlnirii Ţi legãturii spirituale adânc transformatoare dintre derviŢul rãtãcitor Shams din Tabriz Ţi Rumi, „prinþul poeþilor sufi”, întemeietorul ordinului derviŢilor mevleviþi.Intrigatã de lectura profundã Ţi scuturatã din amorþeala cinismului ei autosuficient, Ella iniþiazã o corespondenþã neaŢteptatã cu Aziz Zahara, autorul romanului, un sufit modern, motociclist Ţi cosmopolit, fapt care dezvoltã implicaþii armonios corelate cu schimbãrile din viaþa ei. Douã poveŢti se deruleazã în paralel, una în prezent, cealaltã în trecut, întâlnindu-se în acelaŢi punct al iubirii - Ţuvoi eliberator care angreneazã în curgerea sa vieþile, nu doar ale participanþilor direcþi, cãci povestea din trecut se contureazã prin capitolele scrise la persoana întâi, înŢiruite într-o þesãturã a percepþiilor fiecãrui personaj, principal, secundar sau simplu martor al evenimentelor, având, fiecare, rolul sãu. Impactul major al celor douã poveŢti este determinat de iminenþa transformãrii adusã de iubirea spiritualã, cu toate consecinþele sale, unele deloc drãguþe, privind din perspectiva legilor societãþii, ale bunului simþ, Ţi chiar ale instinctului de conservare. Ce reuŢeŢte în mod excepþional aceastã carte este sã marcheze diferenþa dintre religie Ţi spiritualitate. Dincolo de dogmã, dincolo de constrângere, dincolo de stricteþea unor reguli rigide apare înþelegerea, Ţi prin ea, accesul la înþelepciunea intrinsecã Ţi la bogãþia cunoaŢterii cuprinse în acceptarea drumului care se dezvãluie singur, conducându-te la propriul adevãr. Cele 40 de legi ale iubirii enunþate de Shams sunt de naturã sã inspire Ţi meritã parcurse mãcar pentru beneficiul punerii cititorului într-o autenticã stare de reflecþie. Devine cel puþin interesantã o astfel de religie a iubirii, cumva altfel decât toate religiile lumii, care, evident, contravine, deranjeazã Ţi atrage dupã ea reacþii în lanþ întinse peste veacuri. Iar dacã toate acestea nu sunt mai mult decât consideraþii speculativ-interpretative, e de reþinut aceastã carte fie Ţi pentru

imaginea abil transmisã a derviŢului rãtãcitor care îl cautã pe Dumnezeu peste tot, purtându-l în sine, pentru istoria apariþiei dansului mistic al derviŢilor rotitori, samâ, Ţi, în cele din urmã, pentru povestea lui Rumi, cel care spunea “Multe cãi duc la Dumnezeu, eu am ales-o pe cea a dansului Ţi a muzicii”.

Elif Shafak este o scriitoare de origine turcã nãscutã în Franþa, în prezent profesoarã la Departamentul de Studii despre Orientul Apropiat al Universitãþii din Arizona. Elif este consideratã una dintre marile revelaþii ale literaturii turce contemporane, fiind distinsã cu titulatura onorificã de Cavaler al Ordinului Artelor Ţi Literelor. Scrise în turcã sau englezã Ţi traduse în peste treizeci de limbi, romanele sale se bucurã de un mare succes, la fel ca Ţi volumele de povestiri sau non-ficþiune. Literatura ei alãturã Ţi îmbinã tradiþiile orientale Ţi occidentale, reuŢind un gen de carte universalã, deopotrivã gustatã de cititori din ambele culturi.

What could possibly have in common Ella, a blasé housewife of today’s Massachusetts with Rumi, the Persian mystic of the thirteen century? On the eve of celebrating 40 years of age, Ella attempts to return to work and begins collaboration with a publishing agency. The manuscript on which she should express

her opinion, entitled Sweet Blasphemy, is an introduction to Sufism regarded as an inner, esoteric dimension of Islam, surprising its essence, translating its message of life, divinity, oneself. Ella enters an exotic world, centered on the story of the meeting and the deeply transforming spiritual connection between Shams of Tabriz, the wandering dervish, and Rumi, the “prince of Sufi poets”, founder of the Mevlevi dervishes Order. Intrigued by the profound reading and shaken from her numbing self-sufficient cynicism, Ella initiates an unexpected correspondence with Aziz Zahara, author of the novel, a modern Sufi and a cosmopolitan biker, which leads to

implications harmoniously correlated to the changes in her life. Two stories take place in parallel, one now and the other in the past, connected by the same thing, love – a liberating stream which engages in its flow the lives of not only direct participants, as the story from the past takes shape through chapters written in the first person, lined into the fabric of each character’s perception, all joined together, for everyone has his part to play – as primary character, secondary, or merely simple witness to the events. The major impact of the two stories is determined by the imminent transformation brought about by spiritual love, with all its consequences, some of which are not nice at all, in terms of the laws of society, common sense, and even the preservation instinct. This book succeeds exceptionally at marking the difference between religion and spirituality. Beyond dogma, beyond constraint, beyond the strictness of rigid rules, comes understanding and through it, access to intrinsic wisdom and the plenitude of knowledge contained in accepting the road that unfolds itself, leading to the inner truth. The 40 laws of love set by Shams are likely to inspire and they’re worth gone over at least for the benefit of placing the reader in an authentic state of reflection. It becomes interesting such a religion of love, somehow different from all the world religions, which obviously contradicts, disturbs and attracts chain reactions over the centuries. And if all of these are nothing more than speculative-interpretative considerations, the book is to be remembered for the cleverly delivered image of the wandering dervish who seeks God everywhere while carrying Him within himself, for the history of the beginning of the whirling dervishes’ mystical dance, samâ, and, finally, for the story of Rumi, the one who said “Many paths lead to God, I have chosen that of dance and music.” Elif Shafak is a writer of Turkish origin born in France, currently professor in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Arizona. Elif is considered one of the great revelations of contemporary Turkish literature; she was awarded the honorary title of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. Written in Turkish or English and translated into over thirty languages, her novels enjoy great success, as well as her volumes of short stories and non-fiction. Her literature joins and combines Eastern and Western traditions, leading to a kind of universal book, equally appreciated by readers of both cultures.
