Dear Women Builders,

I wanted to take a moment to share with you the impact that all of you, and Habitat for Humanity, have had on my life and the life of my family. Last year, after being part of an awesome Women Build, we moved into our Habitat home and our life has changed drastically. We have found stability for our family and our community and since moving in we have been able to focus on our kids’ development, school, and nutrition. We enjoy every moment at our home spending time outside playing, just walking around our neighborhood, gardening, spending time inside cleaning, decorating and just sitting inside feeling relieved that finally we have started a life full of blessings and opportunities.

We have been able to get more involved in school and neighborhood activities allowing us to meet new friends for our kids and ourselves. In less than a year, Habitat took the role of mentoring our family by teaching us how to manage money, time, how to maintain our home, and how important it is to help others. Habitat took the time to answer any type of question we had, supported us as we made important decisions, and have always been there to guide us just as parents would do to their children. We are very thankful for every person who is part of Habitat.

Please know all of your efforts, time, sweat and energy will truly impact your community for years to come,

Dolce Abreu-Ruiz
