Hello All!
Our ‘Get in the Groove with PWB’ event was fun and informative. It was so great to meet new guests and continue to get to know members. There are many benefits to being a PWB Member and the group enjoyed hearing a few personal testimonies. Being a part of PWB has caused me to grow personally and professionally in ways I never knew I could. If you are considering becoming a member, I would love to talk with you more.
I am looking forward to our April 22nd lunch where we will learn how to get involved with a very special event: The Habitat for Humanity Home Builders BLITZ. There is also a special call to action that I hope you will all participate in. It is sure to warm the homeowners’ hearts and our own. Please read on to find out more.

goal. I cannot wait
for this years BLITZ.

Rebecca Carr is the daughter of a preacher and a teacher, oldest of 4 girls, aunt to 3 nieces and 3 nephews, and great aunt to 2 nieces and 2 nephews- of which she says nothing is better than watching them grow and laugh. When Rebecca is not working she loves spending time with her family, as well as gardening and watching things grow.
Rebecca has been with Lowe’s for 5 years. She has worked for several builders in the Birmingham area over the last 20 years. She first gained knowledge and experience from her grandfather who was a builder, as well as learned from her father. Before the building industry, she taught for 3 years after gaining her BS degree in Education from UAB.
Rebecca got involved with GBAHB PWB through Lowe’s. She especially loves helping with the Habitat for Humanity Home Builders Blitz; because it allows her to see a project through from start to finish and work with a wonderful organization that helps people to become homeowners. Last year she showed up happy to help day after day. Rebecca says, ‘Seeing 10 homes start from slabs and becoming beautiful homes in 1 week was just CRAZY. Everyone was working hard but having FUN at the same time. There were no small jobs-- just everyone working toward the same goal. I cannot wait for this years BLITZ.’ We are grateful to have Rebecca a part of the PWB!

March RecapGet in the Groove with PWB was a fun and informative lunch! We discussed the missions, goals, and benefits of
Professional Women in Building. A few members gave
testimonies about what PWB has meant to them. Then
we broke off into groups and visited with different
committee leaders. We shared ideas and discussed
how to get involved.
We had a great time with the photo booth; as you
can see below!
