The American Concrete Institute has long been regarded as an international technical expert in concrete. Membership in the Western New York Chapter of the American Concrete Institute can provide an edge to you and your business in terms of contacts, networking, marketing, and resources. Membership also provides access to the industries’ newest information, latest methods and techniques, experts in the field, and education through presentations and Certification Testing. WNY-ACI offers the following options for membership:

Corporate Sponsor Membership - $180 Includes 4 memberships to WNY-ACI and business card advertisement in our newsletter.

Advertiser Membership - $80

Includes one membership to WNY-ACI and a business card advertisement in our newsletter.

Regular Membership - $35

Includes one membership.

Sponsor-A-Student - $25 Pays for one student membership

Thank you to all of those that attended our March Luncheon Presentation at the Protocol Restaurant. The Super-Slab presentation was one of the best attended events in ACI-WNY’s recent history, with 60 people attending. A very special thanks Dan Moellman of The Fort Miller Company, for his informative presentation.

As we enter the month of April, our focus now turns to the upcoming 2012 Awards Banquet to be held on May 10th at Terry Hills Golf Course in Batavia. We urge everyone to submit a local concrete or masonry project from 2012, for an opportunity for award consideration. Please see the Awards Banquet announce-ment on the cover, and the Project Award Entry Form at the end of this newsletter.

ACI-WNY would like to mention the upcoming APWA State Conference happing April 10th-12th in Geneva, NY Also, the Beaver Island Break-Out sponsored by WNY-APWA and the WNY-WEA is scheduled for May 23rd. Please see the Announcements section of the newsletter, or contact Dave Britton at [email protected] for more information.

Construction of our new ACI-WNY Chapter website is continuing, and making excellent progress. Please take a moment to view our website at www.ACIWNY.com.

Also scheduled this month is another round of ACI Certification Testing. Further information and details can be found on page 4 of this newsletter.

WNY-ACI Certification testing is organized by Ernie Kihl, assisted by Jeff Wilson. Professional engineer oversight is provided by Don Borkowski, P.E. Certification Testing is currently performed at CME Associates Buffalo Office, located at 402 Vulcan Street in Buffalo, NY.

Spring is rapidly approaching and WNY-ACI is still look-ing for project submittals for the 2012 Awards Banquet. Submissions for this year’s Awards Banquet have been very limited thus far. APWA 2013 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The annual APWA State Conference is happening this April 10-12, in Geneva, NY. Multiple learning sessions, covering a variety of public works topics will be offered, with PDH/CEU credits, as well as wine tour and Awards Banquet.
