What you’ll coverAbout the courseThis course examines the legal systemand how we try to stop crime. You’ll beintroduced to the fascinating world offorensics, offender management, criminalpsychology and investigation. Therelationship between crime and socialproblems, considering how offenders are,and should be treated are also explored.
How you’ll learnWe believe that you cannot understandcriminology properly unless you see it andexperience it in reality. You will study inour fully functioning courtroom andpurpose built crime house to ensure youhave the opportunity to get real-lifepractical experience at every stage ofyour academic career.
Modules are assessed by a variety ofmethods incorporating coursework,presentations, portfolios and interactiveon line assessments.
Your careerOur graduates have gone on to havesuccessful careers in a range of roles inthe crime and justice sector. This includesthe Police, the Crown ProsecutionService, the courts, the probation andprison services, youth offending teamsand other law enforcement agencies.Students have also developed successfulcareers in the voluntary sector workingwith either offenders or victims whilstothers have gone on to postgraduatestudy.
