Agenda

“Using Social Media to Drive Certification”

Joe Cannata, Brocade

Joe will discuss his recent activities using Social Media to help drive Certification at Brocade. Joe will use live demos to show what he has implemented, and he will discuss the progress that has been made in the number of followers and uptake. Joe recently won an award from Brocade’s Corporate Communications group for his work with using social media. Cert SIG members are encouraged to actively participate and discuss or present examples of efforts they have made using social media in their organizations.

“Internal Communities Drive their Own Certification”

Joan Lee, Alcatel-Lucent

Joan will discuss how over 1,000 technical engineers have formed their own internal communities based on product interest and created their own certification exams for professional enrichment. This employee-driven initiative includes a variety of community-developed training materials ranging from documents-to-audio-to UTube videos. The exams are dynamically updated by members of the community and individuals can update their knowledge by visiting the website as often as they wish.

Any other Cert SIG Examples of Social Media and Certification?
