Summer Picnic

This year’s picnic will be held at our church backyard on Saturday August 19

th. The picnic meal will be served at

5:30 pm. Note that the regular Saturday evening Mass

will be moved one hour ahead (that day only) to 4 p.m. There will be games for adults and children. Please mark your calendars so that you won’t miss it.

Joseph, who spoke on behalf of the Vincentian Missions of East Africa last weekend, expresses his gratitude to all who graciously donated to the Summer Mission Collection. He appreciated your warm welcome. If you still wish to donate toward this mission appeal, you may use a plain envelope and mark it “missions.”

ATTENTION: One- time Change to Sat. Mass Schedule On the day of the Parish Picnic, the Saturday evening mass (and confessions) will be held an hour earlier than

normal. Specifically, Saturday, August 19th, confessions

will be at 3 p.m. and mass at 4 p.m. Please mark your calendar.

Summer Lecturer at CKS The final scheduled summer dinner lecture at Christ the King Seminary will be held this Wednesday evening. Fr Joseph Gatto will present on the topic of Thomas Merton and Contemplative Prayer. Dinner will begin at 5:45 p.m. with the lecture from 6:45 – 8:30 p.m. in the seminary main dining room. Dinner plus lecture is $35 per person. The Lecture only with coffee and dessert will cost $25. To register call Gayle Mann at 716 805-1438.

Coming Lawn Fete at St. Rose Parish, Forestville On Sunday, August 6

th, St. Rose traditional Chiavetta

Chicken Barbecue in Forestville will begin at noon. The dining hall is air conditioned. Expect a dining tent for relaxation and the Famous Gift Basket Extravaganza. The afternoon includes a refreshment stand, 50/50 drawings, pull tabs, an artisan boutique with unique handmade items, furniture painting, paintings and gifts as well as kid’s games, and pony rides. Holy Mass will be offered at 11:15 p.m. There are only a few lawn fetes left. Don’t miss this one!

Drive Succeeds! Bishop Malone has announced that the 2017 Diocesan Catholic Charities Drive has succeeded in reaching and surpassing its goal of $11,069,168.36. Funds raised from the 2017 Appeal support Catholic Charities' 70 programs and services offered across 61 sites throughout the eight-county diocese, including sites in

Dunkirk and Jamestown. We are most grateful to all who gave so very generously.

annual Priest Appreciation Dinner on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Holy Trinity Church in Msgr. Bernardo Hall. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will start at 4:00 p.m. and dinner at 5:00 p.m. This annual event honors our priests, deacons, religious sisters, and seminarians for their service to our Church and our community. Catholic mentorship Program

A Catholic Mentor program, entitled, Fraternus Buffalo, is open to all boys grades 5-12. Fraternus invites all fathers and men of the diocese to a Captain's Formation Meeting on Friday, August 18
