Charles Faulkner - Head of Environment, Health and Safety

Charles is the Head of the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) team with over twelve years of experience within the field of EHS and eight years in the Middle East. He is a specialist in

hazardous materials and asbestos management, and over the years has gained extensive experience and accumulated numerous industry related professional qualifications.

Working closely with various Middle Eastern regulatory bodies, Charles has assisted clients to meet their various legislative requirements, and has even consulted on the content and implementation of the Abu Dhabi asbestos management legislation and Codes of Practice (CoP).

Charles has worked in a diverse range of onshore and offshore environments, and provided bespoke asbestos and hazardous waste consultancy services tailored to projects in such sectors as heavy industry, oil and gas, governmental, healthcare, educational, residential and commercial. Based in the Middle East, Charles has completed hazardous materials management projects in the UK, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Algeria, Lebanon, Iraq, Equatorial Guinea, and Djibouti.

Enda Colfer - Managing Director

Based in the UAE for the past ten years, Enda is a Director with seventeen years’ experience of working in environmental consultancy. He has delivered environmental auditing,

EIA, and waste management projects throughout the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, project managing the environmental and waste support provided to the development of several large developments in the region.

He has worked with governmental bodies, global industrials, local developers and regional professionals in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Oman and across the GCC. Key skills are the project management and direction of risk-related transaction support, EIA and sustainable waste management strategies of large development projects. Enda previously built and directed a large team of multi-disciplinary environmental and sustainability consultants in the UAE for a global engineering firm. He has worked for clients based in the UK, North America, mainland Europe and the Middle East region.

Simon Pickup - Head of Environmental PlanningSimon is Anthesis’ Head of Environmental Planning with over fifteen years of experience in consultancy and eight years in the Middle East. He is a specialist

in ESIA, SEA, the provision of masterplanning advice and the development of planning controls from an environmental perspective.

Simon has extensive experience working on a wide range of projects and other environmental assessment projects in the Middle East, Africa, UK and Australia. He has undertaken a wide range of environmental assessments in accordance with international best practice, including to World Bank standards.

Simon contributes to projects in both a technical and project management capacity, and has significant experience of environmental planning and sustainability issues, working closely with statutory and non-statutory organisations, planners, architects, construction staff and non-specialists.
