Android Divemaster Predator - WOW!!!
I made the decision on Sunday to go ahead and jump on this, as I knew it would go FAST as the OTV for today. My decision was well rewarded!
I remember buying Android 8 or 9 years ago when they wre still shipping in the "tin can" packaging. Well, let me say
that they have come a long way as a company, and this watch is proof positive that while Wing is a visionary in his designs, he also understands the makings of a truly great watch!
I opted for the purple dial. The black was just too ho-hum, the green a bit psychedelic, and the blue a little run of the mill. It was the perfect choice. The purple is, well, purple, but it is the RIGHT purple...bright, but not too bright, with a bit of a black undertone that turns down the volume a bit, but not too much. Regal...yeah, that's the right word.
The case, at 48mm, is just right. The thickness too (I believe Wing said 15mm) is spot on. Were this Invicta (not
bashing, just stating facts) they would have made it 50mm+ in diameter and 20mm+ in thickness and ruined it. It's a big watch on my wrist (7.5 inches) but good big- not clunky or cumbersome. The sapphire crystal, with the cyclops UNDERNEATH, is top-notch!
The case and bracelet design have a super nice mix of in-your-face utilitarianism, but yet the lines flow smoothly
enough that it has a refined side to it too. I LOVE the interrupted connecting links with the ridged design, which is, I think, what really steps it up! I wear a shirt and tie every day, and I would not hesitate to add this watch as a daily wearer. In fact, I'm wearing it now!
Kudos to Wing for an incredible watch. At the OTV price it is being offered, $238.94 for a solid SS, swiss ETA 2824
automatic with a sapphire crystal, it is TRULY a TOP VALUE!
