Ancillary Tasks – Billboard Advert and Radio Advert
Emily Joslin
Billboard• I could only find one billboard advert for a regional magazine,
however, I did find two for global magazine Vogue. I chose to include these as they still give me an idea of what an advert for a magazine looks like on a billboard.
• I have decided that I will lay mine out similar to the one for The Resident as that is the one that is most relevant to the task.
• On all three billboards the magazines name is quite clearly stated so I will make sure the name of my magazine is easily seen also.
• I like the simplicity of the first Vogue billboard that is shown in Leicester Square as although there is not much to it, it is still eye catching.

Radio Advert• I couldn’t find any Radio Adverts for regional magazines that I study. • However, after researching what the traits are of a good radio
advertisement are, I have come to the conclusion that my advert will need to be catchy but simple.
• It is shown that people are more likely to remember the product you’re advertising if you have a catchy slogan/jingle.
• I also found that people are more likely to connect with a radio advert if they can understand it. So I need to use simple language that gets the point across.
• Another thing I found is that you should tell the listeners what to do, such as “go buy this magazine at stores such as Asda and Tesco now”.
• One other thing I found is that you should repeat the name of your product/service to make sure people actually know who you are, it also helps to keep you in their mind.
