• Lavender International have developed an HTHA training course.

• Course syllabus addresses HTHA detection using ultrasonic techniques

• Techniques include TULA, TOFD, PAUT, FMC/TFM, AUBT and AUT

• Course is recognised by the main oil companies and JIP sponsors

• Lavender International continue to push the limits of how small initial stages of HTHA damage can be detected

• R&D work continues, validation of NDE achieved by metallography

HTHA COURSES: NOW RUN FOR MORE THAN 14 MONTHS

HTHA training courses were audited by prime oil companies.Courses now endorsed by all major oil companies mandating techs to have passed the Lavender course before being permitted to perform HTHA inspections.Grading very stringent: False call = fail. Miss HTHA = fail.

• TULA™ approach has been proven to a very simple but highly sensitive means of detecting HTHA

• TULA™ scan speed far exceeds PAUT & TFM• TULA™ probes with specific focal depths

are required to optimise detection throughout a range of thickness

• TULA concept has also been applied to angle beam probes for the purpose of detecting HTHA in weld HAZ regions

• Operator training is essential for choice of parameters, equipment set-up and reliable data analysis

• HTHA training courses are available and proven to be a great success
