The Sass CastleReuse reduce and recycle every day for green

living!

It’s in the basic things

show our design

Design Elements Included

Recycled interior material (such as tire house, bottle bed, using crates as bedside tables etc.)

Earth tubes Cork flooring CFL lighting Green living roof Composting Dual flush toilet

Compost

Enriches the soil Good mulch for shrubs and trees Less pollution to the air –incinerators Keeps food waste out of landfill

where it won’t decompose Good for worms and other helpers

Green Living Roof

Storm water management Improves air quality Thermally insulate the house Reduces noise level Increases the biodiversity New space for

agriculture/recreational activity

Go with the green scene!

Tire House

Will remove 2,000 tires -300mil/year in U.S.

Unused tires a perfect breeding grounds for mosquitoes

When tires are burned gives off toxic smoke

Take up a lot of space in landfills Trap gases (ex: methane) that later

come up and destroy landfill’s linears Buildings have less than “Carbon

Zero” footprint (removes junk) Great insulation

Recycled interiors

Earth Tubes

Partially dehumidifies the air Heats and cools buildings by pushing air through

tubes 3-6ft in the ground, then into the house

Sustainable Flooring

Resilient Durable Warm underfoot Easier to install than wood flooring Absorbs sound Comes from the bark of cork

tree it is a renewable resource

Will show indentations Color fades

CFL Lighting

More energy efficient then incandescent bulbs b/c little heat

CFLs have an electric current that energizes argon and mercury vaporo Which excites a glowing phosphor coating inside

the bulb Gives off bright white light vs. soft yellow

glow of incandescent Generally lasts 10x longer Uses 75% less energy

Though it does initially cost more

Dual Flush Toilet

Gives you two options for flushing one that uses more water

Conserves water Can save up to 68% more water than

conventional low flow toilet
