Solid• Solid is a state of matter in which the

molecules are compact and close together, with very little movement.

• Solids have a definite shape and a definite volume.

Liquid• Liquid is a state of matter in which

the molecules are a little further apart, allowing for more movement (which is why liquids can change shape).

• Liquids have a definite volume but they take on the shape of their container.

Gas• Gas is a state of matter in which

the molecules are so far apart, there is a lot of movement.

• Gases have no definite shape or volume.
