Shine Bright Like a Diamond

Diamond is the hardest mineral known to man.

It tops the hardness scale, scoring four times higher than Sapphire, which is a number nine on the scale.

Only diamond can cut other diamond.

Color is variable and tends toward pale yellows, browns, grays, and also white, blue, black, reddish, greenish and colorless.

Diamond is made up of the element carbon, and formed in something called a diamond lattice.

Diamonds are made by extreme heat and pressure formed under the earth’s surface, and so far have been reported found in 35 countries around the world.

In Arkansas, there is a park where people can search for diamonds for free.

Diamond is mined from deep within the earth, from volcanic tubes where pressure and heat is high and the conditions are right for Diamond to form.

Roughly half of all the diamonds in the world are in central and south Africa.

The most readily available source of diamond right now is in Russia (BETTER DEAD THAN RED).

Diamonds have different going rates for different vendors, and because diamond is sold as a piece in jewelry, price really depends on the cut of diamond, or the carats or how flawless the diamond is.
