Sunday,1stAugust2021DearFriends,Ihopeeveryoneisdoingwell.Whataweekofweather.Wehaven’tstayeduptoomuchbutdefinitelyhaveenjoyedsomeearlymorningOlympics.Thepassion,commitmentandfriendlyrivalryisextraordinaryandsoinspiring.Ourgrandchildrenhadtheirfirstcampingholiday.Theywentcavingtostaywarmanddry.ThenurseryinTokyoisstrugglingalittletounderstand‘babyledweaning’.Adrawingofababyholdingaclumpofbroccolididn’thelpsomuch!Theworldischanging.Atthemomentit’schangingratherfastandcanbeconfusing.TheOlympicsarewonderfulbutwherearethecrowds.Cricketfollowersaregettingusedtothe‘hundred’.WeknowthatCOVIDrestrictionshavebeenremoved,butweeachneedtodecidewhattodotoremainsafe.Wewanttobeabletotravelabroadagainonholidayandtovisitourfamilies,butdon’tknowwhenitwillbepossible.Thenthere’sclimatechangeandnewtechnology.

Godisunchanging.Godcreatedthiswonderfulworldandthenmadeusinhisownimage.HecametousinJesussothatwecouldknowhimpersonally.Godlovesusandhaspromisedtobewithuswhenwearehappyandwhenwearesad,tobeourguideinlifeandtobringussafelytoheaven.Godisunchangingbuttheworldinwhichweliveischangingratherfast.Christiansarecalledtoproclaimtheirfaithafreshtoeachgeneration.

Judyhasmadethesamebirthdaycakeyearafteryearforeachofourchildrenandnowisdoingthesameforourgrandchildren.Abasicchocolatecakewithhugeamountsofchocolateicing,coveredinchocolatedropsandsmartiesinvaryingdesignsdoesthejob.Thecakessheismakingforourgrandchildrenaredifferentfromthoseshemadeforourchildren.Ourdaughterwanteda‘CareBearcake’,ourgranddaughteraunicorncake.OursonaskedforaThomastheTankEngineandourgrandsonadinosaurcake.Thesamebasicchocolatecakepresentedindifferentwaysforeachnewgeneration!
