Welcome to Towers West. In this newsletter you will hear a little bit from
your Residence Director, Desk Coordinator, and also see who the Resi-
dent Advisors of the building are. We hope to see you at the upcoming
events (detailed below) and wish you all a great first day of classes. The
Towers West staff is here to help so if you have any questions or con-
cerns please come find one of us and we will do our best to help you out.

Events First Floor Meeting Sunday August 26@

Your first mandatory floor meeting is a won-derful opportunity for you to meet the other residents, your neigh-bors, and also learn im-portant information for the year. Building rela-tionships early can con-tribute to your college success. Please come out to the meeting which will be held right in front of the elevators on your floor.
Hall Council Meeting Monday August 27 @ 9pm The Twin Towers West Hall Council will be holding an interest meeting on the first Sun-day after school starts. Come out and get in-volved. This is a place for you to voice what you want to see in TTW and also run for paid EBoard positions. The positions and responsi-bilities will be ex-plained at the meeting. Come out, and have

FYRH North & South Insider
Within our halls, we have professional staff who are there for you throughout the day. They always will-ing to assist you in whatever you may need. First, we have Kristin Smith, who is our General Manager. Her job is to ensure that we create a living community that is welcoming and inclusive. After that, we have Scott Schatzer, who has been involved with residence life for 8 years! He is the Assistant General Manager of FYRH. He handles resident concerns, keeping the residence halls a great place to live, and supervising the Resident Director. Next, we have Kerissa Bennett, the Assistant General Manager of Operations. She handles rooming assignments of the residence halls and other things dealing with the day to day operations of the buildings. Kerissa is also responsible for supervising the Desk Assistant staff. We also have Megan Kinnard who is our Office Coordinator. She handles the mail, answers the phone, and other responsibilities dealing with desk work and the offices. Lastly, we have Russell Blankenship who is our Maintenance supervisor. He has been with us since the building opened, and he deals with facilities, works orders, and more! We have an amazing profes-sional staff, and they are very excited to get to know you!
Hall Council: Hall Council allows you, as a resident of FYRH, to have a say in things that go on in your building. There are also great leadership opportunities available within Hall Council. If you are interested in everything that this has to offer, there will be an meeting on Wednesday, August 29th at 8:00pm in the South Theater Room. Join us as we prepare to dive into a new year!
First Floor Meeting: On Wednesday, August 22nd at 7:00pm, will be your first mandatory floor meeting! This is a great way for you to meet the other people on your floor, as well as your RA. You will also learn a lot about the upcoming year!
Welcome to Marshall University and the North and South Residence Halls! This should be the most exciting time of your life! You’re beginning an adventure that you’ll nev-er forget, and our staff is very excited to be a part of it! We are looking to do anything that we can to make your first year, the best year! Beginning your career at college can cer-tainly be overwhelming and stressful, but we are dedicated to helping you through it. Al-ways keep in mind that you’re not alone. There are around 1,200 first year students on this campus between North and South, Twin Towers East, and Buskirk. Reach out and make lifelong friends on campus! We offer Living Learning Communities, Freshman Inter-est Groups, and a variety of programs to help you make friends and offer you things to do on campus! If you have any questions or need assistance, do not hesitate to ask our staff! Make this year count!

Welcome!! The Holderby Staff has been here for the last three weeks preparing for when our halls would be filled with people once more, and here you all are filling the quiet hallways with chatting and laughter! It is truly a good year to be a Holderby Resident as we welcome back two of our RAs from last year and welcome six RAs new to Holderby Hall to join us for the party that is our day to day lives, do try to make them all feel welcome! In addition we are getting our Hall Council underway, which your RA will talk a little about in the First Floor Meeting, so be sure to come and make the voices of the residents heard. I hope you found yourself getting some well deserved rest and relaxation over summer, because the time for the new school year has arrived! In addition to the starting of classes we have been working overtime to help come up with lots of September events and programs to help tip the scale of “all work and no play” in the favor of fun! So be sure to stay tuned for our September issue detailing all the programs and events taking place all around campus!!
