DESCRIPTION

Noise, Air and Chemical Pollution is a serious issue in Sydney. Domestic and Commercial/ Motor Vehicles have the highest percentage of greenhouse gas emissions. Pollution can led to serious health problems e.g. respiratory problems, decrease in lung and immune system functions and also has effects on our native flora and fauna.

A presentation on Sydney’s pollution

Plasma TV’s “generate up to three times the greenhouse gas created by running a conventional 76cm TV” (News.com.au, 2007).

Cars are still one of the major contributors to air, noise and light pollution. Even with the new ‘bio-fuel’ and diesel engines, this problem has not decreased. It is still a significant issue that designers MUST address.

Everyone has a responsibility to be environmentally friendly.

Pollution is a SERIOUS issue that designers must address.

We can incorporate design principles to combat pollution and make our city safer for all!!
