A lot of organizations are looking into how to

handle this.

Unfortunately……too many times, this is what IT has in mind:

IT wants

But users wantto be productive!

Don’t you already enforce network passwords?

Don’t you manage access to your corporate data?

Then why so concerned about “controlling” what mobile users have access to?

That should already be taken care of by your network security policies.

Why not change the story from “controlling” to “provisioning”?

Sunday morning. User decides to finally go buy that iPad. Installs your MDM app, logs in using his or her network credentials. Gets email account provisioned, including contacts and calendar. Apps get pushed that gives them access to all of their files (think “Dropbox for the Enterprise”) and all of their network printers, so they can print from anywhere. Also gets any additional corporate apps delivered, as well as security settings for the device.

And IT? They’re at home with family; it’s Sunday morning, remember?
