Disassembly - Step 1

Power off the device

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the outside edges of the screen

Use medium heat about 2 inches from the device for about 15-30 seconds

Continuously move the heating source to insure no areas are overheated

Disassembly - Step 2

Using a plastic pry tool or nylon spudger, begin lifting the screen away from the device

Be cautions of the area marked to the left, as this is where the screen flex cable is located. Work the other 3 edges then flip the screen to the left.

Disassembly - Step 3

With the screen assembly flipped to the left, you can now access this metal heat shield. Remove the two (2) small Phillips (#00) screws

*Note that these screws are different sizes

Removing the Screen Assembly

With the heat shield removed, release both of these pop connectors to fully remove the old screen assembly from the device

Applying Adhesive

Cut 3 strips of adhesive to place on the new screen assembly. Use the figure below as reference for your new adhesive. Reconnect the screen assembly onto the motherboard. Insure the connectors are securely in place.

Replacing the Heat Shield

Insert the final two (2) small Phillips screws onto the heat shield. Insure the shield fits flush into the device.

Remove the covers on the adhesive and place the new screen assembly into the device. Press firmly into place to secure the adhesive.
