New Maths Framework
Reading Every child is heard at least once a week Focused reading session every morning▪ Rotation of activities across the week which
include: Group Reading, Group Writing, Story Telling, Individual Quiet Reading, Topic Research and Reading Comprehensions
Home Readers Our aim is to sustain the children’s interest in
reading It is still important that children read everyday Please return yellow Reading Record everyday and
ensure the reading book is in their book bag so they can change it or continue reading it at school
Short comments appreciated by you or your child Home school contact – any notes etc. We record how often home readers are changed
and encourage independence in choosing a variety of books
Library Once a week on a Wednesday Enjoy and discuss books at
home In addition to home reader Take home a number game or
talking story as an alternative
Learning at Home
Generally, to be set and handed in every other Friday
Children will need a ring binder with plastic wallets to file their work
Learning at Home sheet will be uploaded onto the Learning Platform plus any useful websites or resources
Work completed at home on the computer can be uploaded onto the Learning Platform
Work will be displayed in the classroom and children given opportunity to share their work
PE
Kits to be left at school Wednesday and Friday No earrings or other jewellery (small purse) Long hair tied back, no hard head bands (spare hair bands) Shorts and T-shirt for indoor PE (e.g. Dance and Gymnastics) Spare socks, jumper, jogging bottoms and trainers for outdoor activities
(e.g. Games and Athletics) Swimming every Tuesday during first half of Summer Term No beach style shorts or bikinis
Morning Whistle blown at 8:50am Children met by Class Teacher Any messages can be handed in as a note or written in the
Home Reader book Playground door is closed at 9:00am, if arrive after this time
sign in at the school office
Break Now the children are in Key Stage 2 they are no longer
entitled to the ‘Free Fruit Scheme’ therefore we encourage children to bring in a healthy snack for morning break time
Please put this in a separate named container to their lunchbox
We also recommend that the children bring in a water bottle, again please can you name this
The children can have juice cartons in their lunch boxes
Home Time
Children attending after school clubs or Beehive will be sent to these (lists provided)
Class teacher will follow children out onto playground to meet parents / carers
Going home with a friend? Please inform class teacher with a brief letter or note in Home Reader
Enrichment Afternoon
Our team of Support Staff, led by Mrs. J Mackey, plan and deliver enrichment projects on a Wednesday afternoon
Children work in mixed groups (Y3 and Y4) on a variety of projects lasting 2-3 weeks
Sometimes additional resources are requested or other clothing is required
Other Points Please name ALL clothes

December.
