Learning Targets

• Learning targets are crafted by teachers and used during lessons to guide students towards what is expected.

• “Look-fors” help students know what they can do to reach the learning target

• Can be short or long term

Standards Based Reporting• Learning targets are based on standards from the Lincoln Learning

Expectations, which are based on state and national standards

• Our report card is organized by standards with descriptions for the grade level. Important highlights include

– Growth as a learner section and academic achievement section– Effort and academic achievement are separate

• We use a 4, 3, 2, 1 scoring system on individual assessments as well as on report cards

• Check red folder nightly!• Emphasize nightly reading and talking about what

has been read• Support practice of writing• Practice Math Facts (Addition, Subtraction,
