Global Warming

By: Kyle Methena

What is Global Warming?

• Global Warming is how the Earth’s surface is gradually increasing in temperature over time

Causes of Global Warming

• Human-made pollution such as factories, car exhaust, and fossil fuel burning

• Natural gases from the Earth

Effects of Global Warming

• Increase in global and sea temperatures

• Polar ice caps melting

• Severe droughts and wild fires around the globe

• More pests (ex. Mosquitoes)

• More insect-borne diseases

• Severe storms such as hurricanes and typhoons will increase in strength

Effects (cont.)

• More money used for cures for diseases and damage from storms and flooding

• Rising sea levels will cause more flooding around the globe

• Lose of habitats for coastal species and animals that live in polar regions

• Extinction of many species of animal (mostly those that live on the coasts and polar regions)

Effects (cont.)• Economy’s will have huge spending bills

on natural disasters and to give water to their people

• Heat waves will use more electricity to keep people cool, costing more money

What can people do?

• Make more fuel efficient cars • Burn less fossil fuels• Use more renewable energy such as wind,

sun, and geothermal to cut down on pollution

• Try to manufacture more efficient power saving appliances

• These could cost more money though so that’s why people aren’t in such a rush

What is being done to stop Global Warming?

• More windmills are being placed instead of burning fossil fuels and factory emissions

• More people are recycling with less pollution happening around the globe

In Conclusion

• Global Warming can have serious effects on the environment if little is done to change or prevent it

• People can make a difference if mankind will work together globally to help Global Warming from becoming a serious problem
