Welcome!Fort Woof, Fort Worth’s first fenced off-leash dog

park, is located at Gateway Park, north of Interstate 30 between Beach Street and Oakland Boulevard, east of downtown. Open from 5:00 am to 11:30 pm daily, the park provides an ideal place for dogs and their owners to have fun (within the limits defined in the park rules*).

Fort Woof provides two large fenced areas for dogs to roam, one for dogs 40 pounds and more and a separate area for dogs weighing less than 40 pounds. Each area has picnic tables (no food of any type in the park, please) and park benches for humans, a watering station for both humans and dogs, and multiple poop-disposal locations, each with a supply of plastic bags (for humans to use when cleaning up after their dogs, as is required by the rules).

Why?•Your dog can run free! •Your dog can learn how to interact with other dogs. •It’s close to home. •You can mingle with other dog enthusiasts. •Your dog can mingle with other dog enthusi-asts. •You get to meet lots of new dogs!

Fort Woof EventsBarktoberfest 2009: October 3rdFort Woof’s Barktoberfest 2009 festival will be held on Satur-day, October 3rd, at Fort Woof Dog Park. Hundreds of dogs and their owners will gather from 10 am - 2 pm to experience the Halloween costume contest, dog related vendors and dem-ostrations and lots of hound-centric fun. Be sure to check our photo gallery to see how past events have unfolded. To learnmore about this great event check out the Barktoberfest page.

Fort Woof Greyhound RoundupEvery Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Fort Woof Dog Park, a group of about 10-15 greyhounds and their owners meet for fun-o-plenty. Everyone is welcome, even if you do not have a greyhound. Watch out! When these greyhounds get together they are fast and don’t always watch where they are going. Tally ho!

Fort Woof After Dark7:00 p.m. every ThursdayThis regular event was established as a way to let people know that the park is open and lighted at night, and to make sure that there is a fun group of dogs and people there when you arrive.

Yes,I would like to support Fort Woof.

There are lots of ways the you can help to support Fort Woof. Of course, the easiest way is to make regular use of the park, making sure that you are courteous and obey all park rules.

There are many ways you can!

Use the Park

VolunteerIf you are interested in doing more, you can become a volun-teer, helping raise funds to help the city with maintenance and improvements to the park. Our biggest fund-raiser is Barkto-berfest, and every year we are always looking for people to help out. The Fort Worth Dog Park Association is the organiza-tion responsible for this web site, and meets regularly to dis-cuss ways to make Fort Woof a better place. Check the About Us page on our website for more information regarding the association and our meetings.

DonateOf course, the easiest way to help the park is to donate money to help with maintenance and improvements. Anyone can make a donation using PayPal on our website, fortwoof.org or send one in now.
