Facebook Timeline for Brands

You can convert your command page to the new timeline NOW, but there are a few

things you need to know first

• You will have 30 days to convert you page—all pages will be forced to move to timeline layout on Mar 31

• Layout is very similar to the Facebook profiles’ timeline• Your command should select/create your cover photo before

making the switch• Your command should consider what historical events and

past posts you wish to highlight on your timeline

• The cover photo is a 851×351 pixel image• Select a compelling image representing what your command does• It should NOT include text or a call to action

Facebook Timeline for Brands

• The profile picture is now a 180x181 pixel box• This should include an image with text that BEST represents your

command as it will appear in the news feed and on other posts

• You can choose what apps are featured at the top of your page• If you have a welcome tab, this is where it will appear

• Review your timeline and ensure accuracy of information• Some events will pre-populate if they have a date associated with the post• You may want to go back and add milestones relevant to your command

• You can select featured stories by “starring” them

• The best posts can remain at the top of the page by “pinning” them

The new admin panel provides additional page management options

• You can now respond privately with messages from fans• Be sure to capture these conversations for records keeping purposes,

as applicable
