Education Program Coordinator - AMEP Program
Comm Unity Plus Services Ltd delivers a range of early intervention and prevention programs
focusing on informing and engaging with our community through high quality Adult
Education, Neighbourhood House, Legal (through the Brimbank Melton Community Legal
Centre) and Family Support programs as well as community engagement and
development activities.
Learning for Employment (LfE) has been contracted by the Department of Education and
Training to deliver Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) and Adult Migrant Education
Program (AMEP) from 1st July 2017 to the 30th June 2020.
Position Objective: The Education Program Coordinator is responsible for mentoring and
supervising the trainers of the Education Program and for conducting pre training
assessments / reviews of potential students for all commUnity+ Education Programs with
particular focus on Adult Migrant Education Program (AMEP).

Key Tasks
Planning / Curriculum Development
Liaise with the Administration Coordinator when creating classes and timetables.
Liaise with the administration team to ensure the PTA / PTR are conducted in a
timely manner.
Assist with the development of the course plans for the AMEP program.
Plan the validation / moderation processes on assessment material.
Monitor the currency of the Training Package and liaise with the Training Manager
to ensure successful transition.
Liaise with Learning for Employment staff and ensure all planning is undertaken to
plan AMEP service delivery.
Professional Development
Ensure trainers have access to professional development both externally and
internally.

Mentor trainers to deliver high quality teaching and meet program compliance
requirements.
Ensure all training resources are compiled on the electronic drive and easily
available to all trainers.
Advise on the purchase of teaching resources and resources as required.
Teacher Support and Supervision
Provide induction and ongoing supervision to all trainers.
Provide curriculum support to trainers.
Liaise with Education Management and teaching staff on matters of curriculum,
assessment and program delivery.
Assist the trainers to prepare the files for auditing purposes.
Mentor trainers in order to deliver high quality teaching and to meet program
compliance requirements.
Provide training and support to staff who will undertake teaching and assessment
and keep a register of Casual Relief Trainers and ensure they are familiar with the
training requirements.
Manage and monitor workflows and workloads to ensure staff are able to
complete their work in a timely and accurate manner.
Support the Training Manager by conducting regular performance appraisals for
all direct reports.
Induct new staff and undertake probation reviews as required by commUnity+
Provide Casual Relief Training Support if required.
Pre Training Assessments
Provide induction and ongoing supervision to Pre-Training Assessors.
Ensure maintenance of the PTA kit and other assessment resources, and maintain
PTA records in accordance with program guidelines and audit requirements.
Manage, monitor and oversee the assessment process, including PTA schedule
and report issues to the Training Manager.
Meet all reporting requirements and prepare reports for the Training Manager and
the Administration Coordinator.
Assist in file preparation for verification audits as required.
When required assess potential commUnity+ students by conducting PTAs, ensuring
all assessments are compliant with funding bodies and regulatory requirements.
Complete all PTAs with accuracy, attention to detail and according to necessary
deadlines.

Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with the Marketing and Administration Team and undertake stakeholder
engagement work to increase student enrolment.
Participate in meetings as required.
Risk & Compliance Areas
Meet all administrative, compliance and reporting requirements as per
contractual guidelines.
Monitor changes in funding guidelines and provide updates to the Training
Manager in a timely manner.
Implement validation and moderation schedules for all Education Programs.
Manage the statistical information required by funding bodies and ensure it is
gathered, entered, validated and sent in a timely manner.
Regularly review and improve internal systems to ensure that minimal risks occur
and compliance is assured.
Ensure compliance with commUnity+ Policies and Procedures.
Ensure compliance with relevant contracts and associated guidelines.
Ensure compliance with Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) for relevant
consortiums or partnerships.

Provide backfill cover as a Casual Relief Teacher when required.
Attend meetings, briefing sessions, conferences and professional development
activities such as moderation and verification networks and workshops.
Maintain a knowledge of curriculum relevant to the scope of commUnity+
registration.

Key Selection Criteria
Extensive experience and knowledge of the delivery of the Adult Migrant
Education Program and contract management.
Previous experience supervising and managing teaching staff.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of curriculum development and
delivery.
Knowledge of education funding bodies and program delivery.
Extensive knowledge and experience in conducting Pre-Training Assessments.

Qualifications
Essential: Understanding and experience of the AMEP Program
Tertiary qualifications with recognised teaching degree and
qualification in Teaching English as an Additional Language
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE 40110
