AutoCAD gives the area inside three or more points picked on the screen and also gives the perimeter. The areas do not have to be connected with

lines.

Shapes drawn with lines or polylines do not need to be closed for AutoCAD to calculate the area.

AutoCAD calculates the area as if a line connects the first and last points.

LIST also reports the area and perimeter of polylines so you do not need to use the AREA command.

DBLIST gives information about all items in the drawing. The information passes by a screen full at a

time. Press [Enter] to see the next screen. Press [F2] to exit the text window.

DBLIST gives TOO MUCH information for most situations.

The drawing creation time starts when 1. You begin a new drawing (not when a

drawing is first saved) OR

2. You issue the WBLOCK command.

A SAVE command affects the Last Updated: time.

If you exit AutoCAD and do not save the drawing, all time in that drawing session is discarded (not counted).

You can update the time by using the Display Option.

Model or Paper Space Limits Are Displays the drawing limits defined by LIMITS. The first line shows the XY coordinate of the

limit's lower-left corner, stored in the LIMMIN system variable.

The second line shows the XY coordinate of the limit's upper-right corner, stored in the LIMMAX system variable.

The notation Off to the right of the Y coordinate value indicates that limits checking is set to 0.

all objects in the database and can exceed the drawing limits.

The first line shows the XY coordinate of the lower-left corner of the extents.
