innovative educational interventions that aim at the prevention of HIV TV. This
creation process should naturally be part of the practice and daily life of these
professionals so that, consequently, may also encompass the reality of HIV positive pregnant and postpartum women in order to promote the health of both mother and
child.
OBJECTIVE
This methodological study aimed at developing an
educational booklet to be used in health care to guide
educational strategies for this target population.
MATERIALS AND METHOD• This is a methodological research;
The process of building educational materials involves
the following steps:
submission of the project to the
research ethics committee;
literature survey; preparation of educational material;
validation of the material by subject matter experts and representatives of
the target audience.
RESULTS• The first step of the construction process of primer corresponded to the
survey content. To do so, we performed a search of scientific papers on the theme of the booklet on bases of national and international data and publications of the Ministry of Health of Brazil.
• This search aimed at surveying the existing information in the studies about the care that mothers should have for the prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV in order to enrich the primer complementary to the guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health.
• That done, there was the selection of the key information to be addressed in the booklet. Then took place and BOOK REPORT perusal of the selected material, and chronological and coherent organization of the contents of each section of the booklet, considering that this material should have combined wealth of information to objectivity.
RESULTSThe content covered in the booklet was organized into sections with the following headings:
Introduction;
What is HIV?;
How to find out if you have HIV;
How is HIV transmitted from mother to child;
Introductory page of care;
Prenatal care to prevent vertical transmission of HIV;
Care delivery in prevention of vertical transmission of HIV;
Care after childbirth to prevent vertical transmission of HIV;
Closing of the booklet.
RESULTS• The second step of the construction process of the
booklet, characterized by the development of guidelines. Was held, initially, the creation of texts, followed by the preparation of the illustrations and ended up with the layout.
RESULTS• In designing the illustrations step, one expert was contacted for design
creation and composition of graphics.
• We attempted to assemble a graphics-rich material in order to facilitate the understanding of covered care, especially for those patients with difficulty in reading.
RESULTS• A primer on the study consisted of
twenty-eight pages. All pages of the booklet were counted sequentially, but the numbers in Arabic numerals only started to be recorded from the first page text in its lower margin. The booklet was with A5 paper size (148x210 mm).
• The cover of the booklet was composed by the title "How to prevent transmission of HIV from mother to child?” Get inside! Institution linked to the development of the material (Graduate Program in Nursing, Federal University of Ceará) and name of the authors.
RESULTS
• Finally, to complete the layout of the booklet, the designer sent a pre-validation version of the
booklet for printing and mailing the expert judges, with a view to validating appearance and content
data to be presented at another time.
FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
It is believed that the use of this material with HIV positive women from pre-conception period to the postpartum facilitate nursing practice, with a view that is illustrated in a technology capable of promoting dialogue between professionals and women facilitate the acquisition of knowledge on their part, memorizing necessary for the prevention of HIV care TV, providing the empowerment of women, as well as a means to standardize the guidelines given by professionals.
