• During the Cretaceous Period, flowering plants (angiosperm) started to appear.

• The evolution of flowering plants caused the evolution of bees.

• The evolution of plants and bees is an example of co evolution.

• Volcanic activity caused a rise in temperature in the Cretaceous Period.

• Volcanoes not only caused a rise temperature, they also made large amounts of carbon dioxide.

• The Cretaceous Period was wetter then the Jurassic Period.

• Snow also appeared in arctic regions.

• There were many types of animals in the Cretaceous, dinosaurs; mammals; flying reptiles; marine reptiles; and birds.

• Both marine and flying reptiles are not dinosaurs.

• Scientists believe that the dinosaurs went extinct because they became too well adapted to their environment.
