How ?

Go to File Open a new project.

Select iSight camera icon

save asQuicktime

Quicktime will providemore optionsthan the “share”option - but “Share”can publishdirect to you tube.

Click on “Capture”edit

(if required)

Choose Voice Record and share to either disk or iTunes - but save as Mp3

• Capturing image, video and sound from the internet for use in the class/VLE

Capturing screen shot (evidence gathering esp useful @ks3/4)

1. cmd/shift/3 (for full screen)

2. cmd/shift/4 (for cross hairs then choose the area)This can be helpful when creating handouts!

Mac screen shots will be in PNG format Save them as .jpg from the“Preview” software.

Skitch allows you to add text and highlight areas/add arrows etc

tip - use Safari when googling imagesright click the files straight into iPhoto

the old version of iMovie has this built in as an export featureso don’t delete this version!

Note - Files exported by “Shared for iPhone” won’t play on 3G phones.

iTunes is set up to convertfiles to Apple’s AAC formatThis can be changed in the preferences.

Choose mp3 for audio for most Learning Platforms

Converting for Audio for playback on hand held devices eg. Phone or iPod/mp3 player

iTunes can provide basic file conversions to change the format go to the preferences in iTunes.

How do I know what a file format somethingis in iTunes?

If the file is outside iTunes -

simply highlight it and click CMD/I - This will give you info about any file.

Option 1. 3.5mm stereo cable from one mac to an another. Set GarageBand audio in in the GB preferences to “line in”.
