Curtin College is located on the main campus of Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. Since its inception in 2000, the College has established itself as the major alternate pathway for students wishing to pursue Bachelor degrees at Curtin, with its graduates consistently producing highly successful results. TRimESTERSYSTEmAnDFlExiblESTuDYoPTionSFormanyprogramsatCurtinCollege,theacademicyearisdividedinto13-weektrimesters.TrimesteronerunsfromFebruaryuntilJune,trimestertwofromJulyuntilSeptember,andtrimesterthreefromoctoberuntilJanuary.Theflexibilityofthistrimestersystemallowsstudentstofast-trackcertainprogramsovertwotrimesters,helpingthemtomorequicklyreachtheirdesireddegreeatCurtin.StudentswhopreferamoregradualtransitionintoCurtincantakeadvantageofthreetrimesters,thuscompletingtheircoursein12months.CurtinCollegealsooffersaTertiaryAccessProgram,whichisavailableinFebruary,Julyandoctoberformanycourses.

TEAChingATCuRTinCollEgElecturegroupsatCurtinCollegeaverageinsizebetween30and50students.lecturesarecomplementedbysmallergrouptutorials,orworkshops,wherelecturersareabletogettoknowthepersonalstudyneedsofeachstudent.StudentsattheCollegewillnormallyhavemorecontacthourswithteachingstaffthaninequivalentundergraduateclasses.ThesmallteachinggroupsapplyspecificallytoCertificateivTertiaryPreparationProgramandTertiaryAccessProgramunitsforallcourses,andtoDiplomaunitsofCommerce,builtEnvironment,Arts&CreativeindustriesandinformationTechnology.TheDiplomaofEngineeringispartlytaughtinCollegeclasses,withsomeworkshopsbeingsharedwithCurtinuniversityfirst-yearstudents.
FREESuPPoRTAnumberofsupportprogramsareofferedfreeofchargetostudentstoassistintheacademicdevelopmentrequiredtosucceedatuniversity.Atnoextracost,studentscanaccesssupportclassestoenhancetheirperformanceattheCollegeandbetterpreparethemforfuturestudy.Coursesinmathematicsareavailable,alongwithavarietyofprogramsaimedatassistingstudentswiththeirEnglishlanguageandstudyskills.inadditiontoavarietyofEnglishlanguagesupportprograms,thereisalsoindividualsupportavailablewhererequiredandacomprehensiveAcademicmasterSeries,aimedatprovidingstudentswitharangeofprogramstoenhancetheirstudyskillsandstudyexperienceatCurtinCollegeandCurtinuniversity.
CurtinCollegestudentscanalsoarrangeindividualhelpwiththepreparationandpresentationofassignments,aswellasreferencing,languageskillsandgeneralstudyskills.Priorityisgiventostudentswhohaveattendedothersupportprograms.
CREDiTTRAnSFERAnDRECogniTionoF PRioRlEARningCreditTransferandRecognitionofPriorlearning(RPl)enablestudentstocompletespecifiedprogramsofstudyinashortertimethannormal.RPlisusuallybasedonsuccessfulcompletionofequivalentmodulesorunitsofstudyatanotherinstitution.Applicationsforcreditsshouldincludeunitoutlines(syllabus)andcertifiedcopiesofanyacademictranscripts.CurtinCollegealsorecognisestheskillsandknowledgestudentsmayhavegainedfromlifeexperiences,workexperienceandanytrainingprovidedthroughpreviousemployment.RequestsforRPlshouldbemadeatthetimeofapplication.ThegrantingofaCurtinCollegeDiplomaiscontingentonstudentsstudyingaminimumof50%ofthecourseattheCollege.
