• Three year degree with an academic and a practice orientation

• Designed to allow students to study and meet other interests and demands on their time

• Attracts people who are interested in working in health and social care settings, particularly in the community and the voluntary sector

BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care Studies

Course Aims

To produce graduates who are:

(i) the ability to integrate specific subject knowledge, values and skills; and who are

(ii) equipped with the skills to promote the well being of people in complex situations

The Course

• An applied discipline with strong value base

• The programme covers a broader range of subjects and interests

Programme features• Tutorial system: all students have a personal tutor

in stages one & two; dissertation supervisor stage three

• Smaller cohort: main cohort 30 – 35 students

• Work Based Learning Opportunities

• Graduate skills: transferable across a range of settings & contexts

• Employability : range of possibilities

• International exchanges: Erasmus

Your Application

Academic Qualifications including:

- 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above (including English and Mathematics)

- A minimum of 240 points at A level or equivalent (must include at

least 160 points from two A levels or one 12-unit award. AS level may

also contribute)

• BTEC or Diploma in a social science related area.

• Access to higher education, to include Social Science units

• Applications from those returning to education are welcome

• Evidence of academic study in the last five years is required
