The Texas Education Agency says that 48 percent of Texas campuses failed to meet Adequate Yearly Progress standards this year, compared with 26 percent of campuses that missed the federal benchmark in 2011. That means 44 percent of campuses met the federal AYP targets for 2012; 8 percent of campuses were not evaluated because they were new campuses
