COLORIZING DIGITAL IMAGES

MICROOBSERVATORY.ORG PROVIDES TOOLS TO ANALYZE AND PROCESS IMAGES, MAKING THEM MORE COLORFUL AND INFORMATIVE.

PHOTOS SHOW LIGHT INTENSITY PIXEL BY PIXEL. SOMETIMES FILTERS HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO LIMIT THE WAVELENGTHS OF LIGHT CAPTURED. IMAGES TAKEN WITH RED, GREEN, AND BLUE FILTERS CAN BE MERGED TO CREATE A COMPOSITE IMAGE.

COLOR MAPS AND IMAGE FILTERS CAN BE APPLIED TO MAKE VARIATIONS IN LIGHT INTENSITY OR DIFFERENT WAVELENGTHS MORE OBVIOUS. THEY ALSO CAN BE USED TO MAKE THE PHOTOS LOOK MORE CREATIVE AND ABSTRACT―TRULY OUT OF THIS WORLD!
