Many of you might have seen our photographs and write-up coming up in the last issue of Amagram as Brand New Diamonds. Some of you might be wondering to �nd us again in this issue as Brand New EDCs. Nothing to brag about ourselves, we are no big deal – but we will try to share the story behind it.

Couple of words about our backgrounds again:

Both of us belong to ordinary middle class families from Kolkata. We are two brothers, one sister; I’m the youngest of the three. My father worked in a Bank and mother was a home-maker. Sujata is the only child of her parents. Her father worked in Central Govt. Dept., and mother is a home-maker. After �nishing my schooling and then my Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, I started my career by �nding a so called ‘good job’ in a Govt. Dept. where I worked for 18 long years. Although I worked there as a Class I Of�cer, that didn’t help me to lead a life above mediocrity. Sujata �nished her Bachelors from Kolkata University and after that we got married. Ours is a negotiation marriage, we are very happily married for last 23 ½ years. We have two beautiful kids – our son, Subhojit, 21 yrs old, now doing his engineering at IIT Kanpur and our daughter, Suchismita, 16 ½ yrs old, is now studying at 11th standard in a premier school in Kolkata. I got my freedom by saying good bye to my 18 yr

old senior level Govt. Engineer’s job 12 yrs ago, after building this awesome Amway business for just 1 ½ yrs. Today, I’m retired, but not tired. Now we are enjoying working even harder than ever before. Because, whatever we are doing here, we are doing it for ourselves and also being rewarded accordingly.

We saw the opportunity together from our sponsors. After seeing it, both of us got tremendously excited and took a joint decision to pursue this awesome opportunity and got started immediately. In spite of all our hesitations and doubts in ourselves, we realised that there can’t be a better and simpler opportunity on this earth which can give us a ‘Life of Choice’ by helping others to live a better life. So we decided to dedicate ourselves to the fullest to succeed in this endeavour. Because of our hard work, help and guidance from our up lines and Amway corporation, things started happening fast. We became Silvers in the 9th month and in the �rst 28 months, we achieved 8 pins – Silver, Gold, Platinum, Sapphire, Emerald, Founder Platinum, Founder Sapphire & Founder Emerald. Since the income as well as recognition at that level was very high, we became a little content and thought that this momentum will continue and things will happen automatically. Since we slowed down a bit at that time, we found others overtaking us very soon, but were still happy as those over takers were our own down lines. But when we again concentrated for the next level, we

found that the momentum had already been lost. Still we reached very close to our Diamondship in 2003 but that didn’t materialise because God had a different plan. Till that time, we saw our business only to grow, but now we started seeing the other side too. But whatever could be the situation, we continued to work hard, believe in ourselves, believe in God and also believe that HE must have a better plan for us.

When people asked me why we were not going Diamond where as so many people were going Diamonds from everywhere, I jokingly said to them that “because our �le for Diamondship was a little heavier than usual; it was taking a little longer time and occasionally the computer was getting hanged too.”

Finally things again started happening and as you all know, we became Diamonds in June’11. But we also completed our Founder Diamondship, as also Executive Diamond in August’11 – 3 big pins in just 12 months, after a gap of 10 years 10 months. So, our message is – do your work, believe in yourself, believe in God and believe in delayed grati�cation.

The rewards that this business offers are simply unbelievable. It allows us to live a ful�lling life with no regrets whatsoever; a chance to enjoy fabulous trips around the world, a scope to live a great lifestyle and yet stay humble and down to earth; an opportunity to earn love and respect from

thousands of people around the world and to lead a POM POM lifestyle (Plenty of Money with Peace of Mind); and to sum it up, a chance to live a life of signi�cance.

Through this business, we had ful�lled lot of dreams, visited lot of countries and the good news is that it is just the beginning. The best is yet to come. But the biggest accomplishment through this business is that today, we are much better human beings, being able to touch and create an impact in the lives of so many people. Our mission is to touch millions of hearts and help them to lead better lives.

The greatest reward that we have achieved through this business is that we had re-established our con�dence, belief and self-respect within ourselves.

It feels good to be a New Founders Diamond. I was told once that either we grow or de-grow; there is nothing called status-quo. Our Founders Diamond PIN is a proof that we are growing, not just ageing. Thanks to my wife Anjali, who took a major role in achieving this level. Thanks to my mom, dad and my beloved son Dhyan Advait who are my reasons for everything I do. Above all, thanks to this wonderful opportunity for making me who I am today.

I was pursuing Masters in a university in NY, USA, when I was introduced in to this business. When I was at the verge of completing my course, US was hit by recession and it became hard to find any good summer job. My uplines advised me to go to India and build this business for few months instead of wasting time looking for summer jobs in US. I came back to India in May 2001 and started building the Amway business, and I went Silver in September 2001. I was advised to stay for some more time and solidify the business. I went Gold in December 2001 and Platinum in March 2002. It’s then I realized that this was where I belonged, not because of the money I was making, but because of the way the business is built. I loved each and every moment spent building this business. Till that time I was excited about only three things…cricket, movies and friends. Amway became the fourth ‘thing’. Talking to people, helping them realize their dreams, showing them a new path, guiding them to the next level, celebrating their achievements…It was all absolutely awesome.

I found out that the best way to be happy is to make someone else happy. That’s why I never went back to the US after that.

If I have to describe this 10+ year journey in a word, it would be ‘ADVENTUROUS’. I have experienced many extremes. There were times that were so tough that I was tempted to ask “God. Why me?”. Thanks a ton to my awesome uplines. Without them I wouldn’t have made it to this point. With their support, I realized that Life makes no mistakes. It doesn’t give a tenth standard exam paper to a ninth standard student. Life gives the right test to the right student helping him to grow and reach the next level. Whatever be the situation, if there is fire in the belly, nothing seems impossible.

The learning I had through my mentors and some great downline and crossline leaders I had met, helped me in becoming who I am. Thank you all. I am privileged to have your association.

I have read somewhere that the purpose of life is not to be successful or to be happy. Our purpose is to be useful. I’m satisfied as I am being ‘well used’. In the end, all that matters is Satisfaction, not wealth, not fame but only Satisfaction.

After I graduated from IIT and landed a job with a leading chip design company, I really thought I had arrived. At 22 years of age, the world at your feet, what else do you think about. Life was just awesome with unlimited possibilities ahead of me. But a few months into my career, as I started taking a deeper look at people’s lives around me and I felt that there was a very deep void in them. I could clearly see that every single one of them was unsure about their future, where they were going and why. They were either looking at the past - how great childhood was or college life was - or the future - how nice would it be once they got the promotion or changed the job or moved abroad. The present somehow was empty. And right at that time, a colleague of mine showed me the Amway opportunity. For that tiny investment that I was making, I was not even sure of what to expect. Little did I know that out of that small box will come out so many choices in life.

Taru, did her MBA in HR, and was working with a hotel group in Agra when we got engaged.

We were 24 and 23, when we got married. Her picture of the future was a typical life where husband and wife both work 5 days and then enjoy the weekend shopping, travelling and watching a movie. She had no idea that she was signing up for a life of perpetual fun, exciting days and fun filled times to come.

We went Platinum and Q12 together and what fun it was working together, fighting it out, late nights and laughter and

team work and helping others achieve their dreams. All we wanted to do was something different - to be able to stand out from the crowd - the crowd of office goers, from the crowd of professionals working 12 hour workdays, the crowd of parents leaving their kids at the baby sitter’s each day, the crowd of leading an average life which has forgotten to dream.

The friendships we had formed in the process were so tight that an Emerald pin was not a surprise at all. Once we hit

Emerald level, we knew we could reach anywhere in this business. Both of us could buy our time back from full time jobs and that one year we got up late every single day and watched one movie every day!! And went Founder Emerald the following year!!

Adi was born after we went Emerald. The time we spent with him has been priceless. Both of us were there to see him take his first steps, hear his first words and relish the gift of parenthood. Avani was born after we

qualified Diamond and we have to pinch ourselves every day to believe the life we are able to live today.

When somebody says no to this business opportunity or chooses to quit, we really feel sorry for them. How do you show the joy of living a life like this to somebody? This is one place where the journey is more beautiful than the destination. Our only dream is to have more and more people walk on it with us.

Manjeet is a graduate (Hons.) in psychology and was a national player of basketball. We are blessed with two children Harbir and Guneet and a daughter- in- law Rajveen.

A stranger presented the Amway business plan to us. In the initial stage we could not visualize the scope of the business and was not serious about it. We were not sure whether it will work for us or not. But we just asked ourselves “what if this could work for us?” Sometimes a simple change in our thinking can be the start of a big change in our life.

We attended couple of seminars and realize the potential of this business. Now we feel It was the most important decision we ever made.

Along the way, we realize that to do this business one does not require any talent but skill is required and that can be acquired by getting the knowledge and experience.

There were times in our business when we were not as productive but we always had a belief in the business and

ourselves. We always had a success when we went back to the basics. During

the journey of our success, we learned “lock on to your goals, work hard, pray to the God and don’t give up until you have achieved it.

Manjeet remembers that basketball taught me how to accept defeat-not to like it, but how to accept it. We also

learned how to quickly get back in the process of what it takes to win, because life is about losing and winning. Not everyone you talk to will join you in this business, and not everyone who does will do anything with it. There will be

some tough times and people will let you down, but you have to keep on doing what it takes to win.

Amarjit and Manjeet always believes that during the journey of success, we may face setbacks. These setbacks are only temporary unless we allow them to become permanent. One of the secret of success is “To refuse to the temporary setbacks to defeat us”.

We are thankful to God for our success to this level. It happened because of the guidance and support of our up line. Through this business we have been able to fulfill many of our dreams. Besides making money, Amway Business also helps us to understand the value of ethics, integrity, spirituality, positive attitude and the power of setting goals.

Some people think they can do this business and some people think they can’t. And whatever they think, they are right. You are always close to your thinking.

I am a Mining Engineer and worked for a Public Limited Company for 14 long years and my wife is a Graduate and an ordinary house wife. We have two wonderful children: daughter Neeharika is 12 years and son Nikhil is 10 Year old. Before Amway Opportunity entered in our life, we were leading a good life, without style. Initially, we had rejected Amway opportunity twice. During those days, we could not understand the potential of Amway opportunity, since we were in the COMFORT ZONE. Thats why this zone called “Dangerous Zone”. However to cut the long story short we decided to join the Amway opportunity during June 2001, after understanding the depth & potential of the business through our

From the beginning we are sincere and self disciplined particularly for Amway Business, attended all product trainings,

picked up the information on how to build

the Business and show the business presentation to people. We truly believe that once you

are committed to yourself to build your own group, No Rejections will disturb you. We realised that this business can provide us a wonderful lifestyle, optimum health, lot of wealth and plenty of time to enjoy life.

PEOPLE NEVER PLAN TO FAIL, THEY FAIL IN PLANNING ITSELF. Instead of focussing on challenges, troubles, problems etc. putting efforts on solutions will give better results. One has to start Amway Opportunity when they really don’t need it, this Business will certainly help them when they really need it.

We decided to use All the products from Amway at home without any doubt in our mind from the beginning. Thank God!!! That simple point in Business helped us to do more retailing, and growing the business. Unless we have a mentality of using Amway products at home, we are sure our business will not move the way you need to grow. Secondly, we have balanced job and Amway

celebrated the day by organizing a blood donation camp in the premises of

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal. There were 219 donors who

came forward and supported the cause.

Taking its commitment of providing a meaningful difference to the lives of underprivi-

leged children, AOF, along with its Sunrise project partner NGO, Theatre Age, Chandi-

garh instituted the ”AOF – Theatre Age School of Videography”.

The state-of-the-art studio is equipped with high-end computers and softwares, high

definition video cameras, tripods and other essential accessories.

This is an employment linked video training program for the students of Theatre Age

where students will be trained on videography, video editing, photoshop, audio record-

ing, audio editing and other related things which would help children to equip

themselves in areas of editing, direction, anchoring, and other fields related to

television production. Prominent media persons based in & around Chandigarh have

also come forward to mentor students and to support them in getting employment.

The setting up of this video editing suite is a step in the right direction to those children

who wish to make a career in video editing. Surely, the creatively talented children of

Theatre Age stands benefitted to be able to now script their career..
