I am from a middle class family. My father, Shri Narayanan Nair was an executive and my mother Smt Bhargavi Amma is a homemaker. Being youngest in the family, I got all the love and care from my brothers and sister. I studied in a Government school in Malayalam medium and was an average student. Just like most of the youngsters, I was not

clear with my future plans. It was my father who taught me that, if one has no plans in life, one will fall into someone else’s plan. It was while I was doing B.Sc., my goal was to get admission in MBA. I worked really hard towards it consistently for two years. During that period I completed M.Sc. Analytical Chemistry. When I got admission for MBA against all my challenges, I realised that if one has a powerful dream and is willing to work hard towards it against all odds, one would succeed.

After completing MBA I started my career with India’s largest Consumer Electronics Company. From there moved to Pharmaceutical industry, and then, to one of the largest Publishing houses in India. My last job was with a leading Petroleum company.

While I was in job, I married Bindu. Bindu was also from a middle class family, only daughter to Mr Padmanabha Pillai and Hymavathy. Bindu completed her Interior Designing

course and was thinking of starting a consultancy. Once we started our life, we realised that job cannot ful�il our dreams. We

were looking for freedom, which was much more than money. A Freedom to choose the life we wanted to live… For us freedom doesn’t mean doing nothing

and sitting idle at home; freedom means able to do things which we love to do, with whomever we love to do it, wherever and whenever we want to

do it. For achieving this we realised that the only option is to start a business of our own.

Our search for the right business opportunity ended when one of our friends showed us Amway business. Though it was hard to believe the �igures, we decided to start the business only because of the credibility and the past history of the company. We couldn’t �ind any reason for Amway not to succeed in India after successfully operating for more than 40 years in more than 80 countries and territories. Hence we decided to start the business seriously. From that day we utilised the entire time after of�ice hours for developing the business. We stopped attending social functions and evening get-togethers and totally focussed on the business. Our �irst goal was to get out of the job.

When we became an Emerald Direct in 2000, I left the job and decided to take the business full time. From there we grew fast to touch Diamond level in the next year and Founders Diamond level in 2002. In 2004 we became EDCs. We achieved all these levels without having any prior Amway experience in any other countries.

First we believed that if God has put us into this business, it must be with a plan. We realised that our responsibility is to create bigger dreams and chase them. So we built our dreams. As God has given this ability only to human beings, I believe it is our responsibility to have big dreams and work hard towards achieving them. We are blessed to have loving and caring uplines. Also this success is happening just because of the effectiveness of our team who work without any sel�ishness. We are thankful to God and to the Company as through this business we learned the principles of leadership and by practicing them we could create some of the �inest leaders in this business.

We are blessed with two children; Aditya Narayan, studying in 8th standard and Aishwarya Lekshmi, studying in 3rd standard.

The most exciting thing in our life is, for them we are their role models. As in this business we teach and practice the best

life principles, our children are also growing up with the right principles and values.

For example, we may need to see the customer receipts that verify compliance of retailing of products to genuine customers. So be sure to keep good sales records by retaining customer receipts

After a hiatus of around two years, AOF’s National Project for the Blind is back on track. And how! A vocational training centre inaugurated in Delhi, and one computer centre each, in Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram, dedicated to visually challenged children. In Delhi, AOF has partnered with its oldest NGO partner – AICB, Rohini – to set up the AOF-AICB Centre for Excellence, where children will undergo a 12-month course, which will gear them up for call centre jobs, English and personality development. Mr William Pinckney, Chairman of AOF, enjoyed being in the thick of it on a warm Sunday mid-day, as were the leadership of Delhi.

Mr Pinckney also traveled to God’s Own Country to inaugurate the computer centre at Thiruvananthapuram. Here, AOF teamed-up with its other NGO partner, NAB (India), and set up this computer centre. Mr Prithviraj Bijlani, inaugurated the fourth AOF-supported computer centre for the visually challenged (the other two being at Kolkata and Patna) in Jaipur. Here, AOF has joined hands with Rajasthan Netraheen Kalyan Sangh to establish a top-quality computer centre. This was a bonus for team-Jaipur as they had earlier upgraded the Ballika Griha in the pink-city.

AOF celebrated Amway’s 10th anniversary at Indore by donating a Personal Computer & Printer cum copier to an Orphanage home, Sanjivani Sewa Sangam.
