World Hunger Sunday - Today, on World Hunger Sunday, we bring our offerings to God and ask Him to use them to supply the needs of those living in poverty, through the work of World Renew to break barriers that lead to hunger. To learn more about how your gift will be used to equip people around the world, visit worldrenew.net. Bulletin Announcements for this week are due by noon on Wednesday. Out of Office – Carmen is re-scheduled for surgery on Thursday. She plans to be out of the office Thursday-Sunday and back next week regular hours. Please call ahead if you need to get into church. Thanks to everyone who supported our trunk-or-treat event with your prayers, donations, and friendly faces. Your servant hearts are truly appreciated. We shared candy with over 400 guests! Our event was blessed with safety, dry weather, many helpers and lots of fun. Thank you to the Congregational Life Committee and all that helped to make the progressive dinner a success. The food was yummy and the evening a real blessings. A special thanks to the Cavanaugh's for the jokes! Hearts to Hands Ministry will meet on Thursday, November 9th at 9:30 a.m. – You don’t need to be able to sew in order to help! Come and join this group of women from the community as they fellowship and work.

Our Thanksgiving Day service will be on November 23rd at 10:00 a.m. We will celebrate communion as part of the service. There will be an opportunity to Give Thanks with the annual food in-gathering on Thanksgiving Day. Shop the sales and BOGO events and bring some special treats and pantry staples to our Thanksgiving service. All food donations will be brought to the Muskegon Rescue Mission. The special Thanksgiving envelopes will be in next week's bulletin. Any loose offerings on Thanksgiving will be split between Love INC and the Muskegon Rescue Mission. (Three will be selected for three year terms) Deacon – Kellie Cavanaugh, Lis Potts, Charry Snyder, Keri Verwolf, Cam Vlasma, Melisa Vlasma, and Gabe Vlasma. (Two will be selected for three year terms and one will be selected for a two year term) November 12 – During coffee time, we will have a town hall meeting in the sanctuary, to review the revised AOI and the 2018 budget.

During our Congregational Meeting this year, council is asking the congregation to vote in favor of the revised Articles of Incorporation (AOI). This is a legal document required by the State of Michigan. Council approved the revisions in April 2017, and to be adopted we must have approval from the congregation. Our original AOI were submitted to the state in 1929. The restated AOI modernizes the language, updates the Fundamental Principles section to reflect the current creeds and confessions of the CRC. It also provides limited liability for council and other volunteers, as well as providing us with additional legal protection for the way we determine how our facilities are used. Copies of our current and proposed AOI are available at the sanctuary exits. Copies of the current and proposed budget are also available at the sanctuary exits.

Patient Advocate Seminar – Wednesday, November 15th, 9:00 a.m., Christian Care Assisted Living, 1530 McLaughlin Ave, is hosting this seminar to help you learn what is required to become an effective patient advocate; the impact that guiding decision-making can have on your relationship with your loved one; strategies to engage the patient advocate and their loved one in health care decision-making; and how to successfully incorporate technology into this process. Muskegon Christian School is seeking a Food Service Director. This position will become available before January of 2018. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, menu planning, food ordering, managing the kitchen, managing the food service budget and following all relevant government guidelines. Hours are approximately 20 per week with some flexibility. Qualified candidates will need a bachelor’s degree and/or school nutrition program experience. This play tells the story of June Muldoon, a 15-year-old girl growing up in the small religious town of Gary, Indiana, in the 1880’s. This story boasts characters with whom you will definitely fall in love. You will not want to miss this play that overflows with humor...loss...and love. Milly Baker: Milly is still very weak. Continue to pray to God to strengthen her.

Kathy Neimeyer: Kathy should be home. Pray for her continued recovery.

Ken Witt: Ken was admitted to the hospital this week with pneumonia. Pray to the Lord for his healing.

Jim Secord: Jim is recovering. Continue to pray for his healing.

Carmen Huttenga: Carmen is schedule for surgery on her foot on Nov. 9th. Ask the Lord for a successful surgery and a quick recovery.

Sioux Center Christian School: Continue to pray for all those effected. Pray for the Lord to bring healing, forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration.

Rebecca Cloud: Rebecca has a major back surgery scheduled for Nov. 15th. Please pray for her and the kids as they prepare for this.

Lakeside Chapel: Lakeside is a CRC in Ludington that is really struggling. They have shrunk and they are having financial difficulties. Pray for our brothers and sisters there.

Classis: There is a special classis meeting coming up on Nov. 9th for Spring Lake CRC. Candidate Michael Westerveld will be examined and the Lord willing, will be ordained. Pray for him and his family in this exciting time. Pray for Spring Lake CRC too.
