The telecom industry in Bangladesh is composed of a few players The main reason for such a small numbers is the regularization of the industry by the government For years the Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) had been the sole player in the market

Bangladesh Telecom Limited (BTL) was the first entrant in the market back in 1989 when it was awarded a license to operate cellular paging and other wireless communication networks in the country Since then it has been renamed to Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited (PBTL) and given the brand name CityCell Digital to its cellular services Grameenphone Ltd ROBI(AKTEL) and Banglalink have entered the industry with various changes in between BTRC has formed Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd on behalf of the government with an aim to bring price levels down and make cellular technology available to the mass public

The industry is also set to accept several more players with licenses to operate PSTN or fixed phone lines being distributed to operators ndash ending the long fixed line monopoly enjoyed by BTCL

Banglalink entered the market in September 2004 with a large hype Unlike other operators it entered the market with an already established network by acquiring Sheba Telecom ndash the worst performing telecom operator then Immediately recognizing the negative image of the previous company the Orascom owned subsidiary re-branded itself as Banglalink The company immediately started making heavy investments in expanding and improving the network Its heavy spending has created a strong brand presence in the market as well Very recently it has crossed over 28 million subscribers

City Cell Digital

The oldest mobile operator in the country seems to be the most in trouble It is the only operator with CDMA connection Despite being the first company in the market it had failed to reap any of the benefits of being the first entrant With its initial exorbitant pricing inability to use cheaply available sets from the market and a poor quality network created a

Interpretation 795 Customers are strongly agreed regarding this statement and 205 gave their opinion for agree option no customer vote for disagree option So we can say that mobile connectivity of warid telecom is excellent

3) Warid telecom gives fastest internet facilities

Interpretation Strongly agree customers are 615 and agree customers are 385 No disagree customer has been found Some of the customer said that lsquoInternet speed of Warid telecom is mind blowingrsquo

4) Customer care and after sell service of warid telecom is satisfactory

Interpretation In that case most of the customer gave their opinion for lsquoagreersquo option Percentage of agree customers are 692 and strongly agree customers are 308

5) Call charges are affordable by customers

Interpretation In that case most of the customer gave their opinion for lsquoagreersquo option Percentage of agree customers are 692 and strongly agree customers are 308 Every one is satisfied for their tariff plan

because their call charges are comparatively low

6) Advertisement of warid telecom is building high awareness

Interpretation Only few of the customers are satisfied for their advertisement percentage is 231 most

of the customers has been chosen disagree option for that statement 26 customers are strongly disagree regarding this statement

So form customerrsquos opinion we can easily get the idea that the advertisement of warid telecom is not satisfactory

7) Promotional campaigns are very much effective for encouragement

Interpretation 718 customers are disagree about this statement 26 customers are strongly disagree Only 205 customers are agreed and 51 are strongly agreed regarding this statement Customers are not satisfied onwarid telecomrsquos promotional campaigns

9) Value added services of warid telecom are adequate

Interpretation Most of the customers are satisfied on their value added services 846 are agreeing 128 customers are strongly agreed Only 26 percent customers are disagreeing about this statement

10) Bonus talk-time is very attractive

Interpretation All the customers like the bonous offer by the warid Every one needs this service So customer satisfaction is very high regarding the bonous offer Total sample size of the Questioner analysis is 39Above Questioner analysis is made only for report purpose not for commercial purpose

FINDINGS RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSIONFindings

From the above pie charts we can easily find out the strength and weakness of warid telecom Bangladesh limited Majority of the customers are satisfied on warid telecoms servicesBut their advertisements are failing to catch peoplersquos heart At the same time they have some problem in there network coverage They have strong net work coverage in district level but out side the district level there network coverage is very low

Recommendations

Warid telecom has weakness in their Integrated Marketing Communication strategy (IMC) so they need to reform this strategy The most important thing they need to do the expansion of network all over the countary that will help them to maintain steady growth Warid Telecom need to develop some other value add services that are very popular to the customer such as call blocking balance transfer facility request call mobile back up service and they also need to provide more internet facility because the demand of internet service is increasing day by day

ConclusionFrom the above analysis we have come to know that overall performance of Warid telecom is good and most of the Warid customers are satisfied by using Waridrsquos service Some of their customers are not happy about waridrsquos promotional activities and form the analysis We found out that their promotional tools are not working properly thatrsquos why they are failing to achieve their targeted market share They need to give more emphasize on their advertisement and promotional activities bibliography
