The Architects

Greetings, AIESEC in the Philippines!

We are a group of 1,300 people who have spent the last ten months striving for both excellence and unity – achievement through cooperation. We’ve used the phrase, “One AIESEC Philippines!” to push for what we understood to be solidarity.

Along the way, our definition of solidarity evolved - from expecting people from different LCs to attend others’ events, or like others’ Facebook posts to a meaningful, authentic brand of solidarity that has bred collaborative growth. Something that we hope moves us closer to what those seven European teenagers meant when they were envisioning “peace and fulfillment of humankind’s potential.”

We began this term with the goal of creating relevant impact – of affecting something bigger than our organization. We’re an bunch of young, idealistic people, and we’re allowed to think that way.

We’re privileged to believe that something comes out of the “blood, sweat and tears” we put into what others might simply see as another student organization. And it is because of that idealism, perhaps even naivete, that we are, and continue to be, driven to create the impact we make.

And both the country and world need that kind of idealism, for how else will we survive? How, even, would we have survived the ups and downs of past ten months?

It is in these final few days of our term that we face the exciting potential that the coming term promises. It is also in these final few days that we look back on the time that has quickly passed and ask what kind of impact we have created.

We invite you to look back with us, and to celebrate the successes we have made together. Thank you for the months that have passed. It has been an honor working with each of you.
