NORTH MIDDLE ANDAMAN Cloudy weather with moderate to heavy

rainfall is likely to occur during next five days. In Rangat block 115 mm of rainfall is expected during this period. The maximum temperature in Rangat block will be 29.2 to 32.7 o C with minimum temperature of 24.4 to 25.9 o C, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 80 to 86 %, and 61 to 80 % respectively in Rangat block. Wind speed of 14 to 30 km/h is expected from South Westerly direction

Cloudy weather with moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur during next five days. In Mayabunder block 115 mm of rainfall is expected during this period. The maximum temperature in Mayabunder block will be 30.1 to 32.3 o C with minimum temperature of 24.5 to 25.6 o C, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 79 to 84 %, and 66 to 79 % respectively in Mayabunder block. Wind speed of 17 to 35 km/h is expected from South Westerly direction.

Cloudy weather with moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur during next five days. In Diglipur block 162 mm of rainfall is expected during this period. The maximum temperature in Diglipur block will be 29.2 to 32.6 o C with minimum temperature of 24.4 to 25.8 o C, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 83 to 88 %, and 65 to 83 % respectively in Diglipur block. Wind speed of 14 to 34 km/h is expected from South Westerly direction.

SOUTH ANDAMAN.

Cloudy weather with moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur during next five days. In Prothrapur block 135 mm of rainfall is expected during this period. The maximum temperature in Prothrapur block will be 30.1 to 32.2 o C with minimum temperature of 24.4 to 25.6 o C, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 80 to 85 %, and 67 to 80 % respectively in Prothrapur block. Wind speed of 17 to 35 km/h is expected from South Westerly direction. Cloudy weather with moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur during next five days. In Little Andaman block 132 mm of rainfall is expected during this period. The maximum temperature in Little Andaman block will be 29.1 to 30.8 o C with minimum temperature of 24.6 to 26.2 o C, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 77 to 86 %, and 68 to 78 % respectively in Little Andaman block. Cloudy weather with moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to occur during next five days. In Car-Nicobar block 111 mm of rainfall is expected during this period. The maximum temperature in Car-Nicobar block will be 30.7 to 31.5 o C with minimum temperature of 24.1 to 25.5 o C, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 77 to 82 %, and 75 to 78 % respectively in Car-Nicobar block. Wind speed of 27 to 36 km/h is expected from South Westerly direction.

The maximum temperature in Campbell-Bay block will be 30.4 to 31.5 o C with minimum temperature of 23.8 to 25.3 o C, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 77 to 82 %, and 65 to 79 % respectively in Campbell-Bay block. Wind speed of 27 to 35 km/h is expected from South Westerly direction.

Crop Stage Advisory According to NDVI data sent by IMD agricultural vigour of New Alluvial Zone of West Bengal will be Moderate to Good in the coming week and as per SPI data this zone will face Mildly Wet to Moderately Wet condition.

Aman Paddy Start collecting certified seeds from now onwards for sowing during 15th June to 30th June.

Jute Sowing Sowing of Olitorius jute should start at this moment. Recommended varieties are JRO-204, JRO-128, JRO-524. Line sowing of seeds should be done at a spacing of 30 cm × 7 cm.

Pointed gourd,cucumber, bitter gourd, watermelon and other cucurbits, cowpea, okra, amaranth, Elephant foot yam, colocasia

Fruit bearing stage

For pointed gourd, cucumber, ridge gourd and bitter gourd periodic hand weeding should be followed. Hand pollination in pointed gourd, cucumber, bitter gourd early in the morning and during evening in ridge gourd helps to set cent percent fruit. Avoid spraying of insecticides in the morning hours for pointed gourd, cucumber, bitter gourd. If downy mildew appears in the leaves of cucumber, bitter gourd, pointed gourd, alternate spraying with Cymoxanil-Mancozeb (Curzate) (2.5 g/lt) and Fosetyl Al (Alliet) (2.5g/lt) at 10 days interval is very effective. Spraying of propergite @ 1.5 ml/lit, or dicofol @ 2.5 ml/lit. against the spider mite of pointed gourd provide good control. Apply poison bait for the control of fruit flies in cucurbits. Bait will be prepared by mixing 20 g Malathion 50% WP or 50 ml Diazinon 20% EC with 500 g molasses + 20 g yeast hydrolysate. This mixture is mixed with 2 litres of water for poison baiting and 20 liters of water for bait spray.

For whitefly and jassid attack in okra, alternate spray with Acetamiprid 20% SP@1g/3lit. and Thiomithoxam 0.3 SG 1g/3lit. of water will be effective. At early growth stage and during flowering of cucurbits, apply nitrogenous fertilizers. Spray

the crop with Fipronil @ 2 ml/lit. of water for jassid attack in watermelon and ash gourd. Hand weeding in elephant foot yam and colocasia field is necessary. Apply nitrogenous fertilizers followed by earthing up and irrigation is necessary. During rains, drainage channel should be provided to drain out excess water from the field.

All standing crop

General In view of increasing temperature, light irrigation is advised in all vegetable and standing crops as per the need. Irrigation should be done in the morning hours or evening hours. High temperature is suitable for deep ploughing of fields after harvesting of previous crop. It helps in destroying the eggs and pupating stages of insects and weed seeds. Keeping in view of high temperature forecast, farmers are advised for harvesting of mature vegetables at morning and evening time.

Green manuring

Sowing For green manure, sowing of green gram, cluster bean, gwar etc may be done during this week. Seed rate for dhaicha is 50-60 kilogram per hectare. For adequate germination proper moisture should be maintained.

Mango, litchi and Guava

Fruit growing/harvesting stage

i) Spray either Imidachloprid (Confidor) @ 3ml/10 litres of water or Acetamiprid (Asataf) @ 1 ml/litre of water for controlling mango hopper. ii) Irrigation should be done at regular interval if required in all orchards.

iii) Start harvesting of litchi when 50% fruits in the bunch develop red colour. Keeping in view high temperature, farmers are advised to protect banana,

citrus, mango orchards against hot winds by physical barrier and frequent irrigation.

Poultry General Care for day old chicks with proper brooding, ventilation and management may reduce morbidity and mortality rate

Fishery

General ) Against Ulcer disease take preventive measure with application f 10-14 kg Lime per bigha fish pond.

ii) For control of Ulcer disease, apply 13 kg Lime per bigha fish pond. Then after 7 days, apply 1.3 kg bleaching powder per bigha fish pond.

iii) In order to avoid bird menace, give net covering over the fish pond.

iv) for new pond preparation cultivate Dhaincha

Coastal Saline Zone

Amon Rice Field

Preparation

Collect good quality of Dhaincha and sow them in the field selected for amon rice cultivation. Sowing may be done broad casting after one ploughing.

Cucurbitaceous Fruit fly

Management of fruit fly on cucurbitaceous vegetables install pheromone trap @ 6-8/ha and apply bait spray in spots @ 30 nos./ha (at least) *[Bait preparation -200 gram molasses + 10 ml chlorpyriphos]

Jute Growth Stem rot & Sucking Pest

To control stem rot of jute, spray copper oxychloride @ 3-4 gram/liter of water. Management of sucking pest infestation on jute spray dinoteferun 20% SG @ 1g/lit. + 0.5ml/liter sticker.

Chili Fruiting Fruit rot To control chili fruit rot spray Carbendazim + Mancozeb @ 2.5g/liter of water.

Turmeric & Ginger

Transplanting

Transplanting of Ginger & Turmeric in the main field with seed treatment for using Bavistin @ 4g/kg.

Bhendi Growth Yellow Vein

Mosaic To control Yellow Vein Mosaic of Bhendi, Spray Imidacholorprid @ 0.2ml/liter of water at morning time.

Cattle -- -- To avoid loss of essential body salts in animals ensure that a salt mixture in appropriate quantity is mixed with the feed and water and given to animals.

General The SPI map shows that the district is mildly dry. From the NDVI map it is evident that the crop coverage is moderate. Standing vegetable crops can be provided with one irrigation.
