• MANAGING INFORMATION: A large experience in the use of library catalogs, references and document management since 1942. The largest effort at this point is SIDALC Alliance at www.sidalc.net
• CONNECTING PEOPLE: The following “right step” was related to take advantage of all tacit knowledge and explore ways to link people (data) better. The recent effort is called AGRIPROFILES at http://agriperfiles.agri-d.net/

A little bit of history: Developed by Cornell University (2003-2004),extended with other US universities under an NIH project (2009),and translated into Spanish by IICA with support from USDA (2013)
AgriProfiles will allow any researcher/professional
To map any colleague by research area, authorships and collaboration
To expose credentials: experience, knowledge and professional achievements
To link research areas and experiences bygeographical focus
