The black night of apartheid South Africa. An isolated farmhousedescends into ruin and decay. The rain will never come and in thedust, Sussie and Frikkie play out the punishment rituals of the past.

Nothing is prohibited.

Nothing is taboo.

What will happen when an unwelcome visitor enters their world?

Barebones Project came together to work with the singular anddangerous energy of this play. Its first performances were in thecellar of an animal food store and a Soho renovation project. Theyhave just finished a run at the Brighton Fringe Festival.

As our name implies we are committed to a kind of “poor theatre”.We aim to reveal the “bare bones” of the theatre experience, whichmeans, primarily, removing all obstacles to the availability of theactor to the audience. Sets and props and lighting are minimal andare inevitably recycled, salvaged and borrowed.
